Do you want to convince your son that he should choose core mech field placement over IT services?

Do you want to convince yourself that you have made the right choice?

(My wife age is 54 years and working in a private school since more than 20 years. she is contributing to EPF from the joining. Upto MARCH 2015an amount of RS 780/- is deducted from her salary (i.e.12% of 6500 wages) & 780 by employer. From APRIL2015 an amount of RS 1800/- is deducted (i.e. 12% of 15,000 wages) & 1800 by employer. Is she eligible to get higher pension of 15,000 or not? if not how much pension she will get by 2028. By 2028 total employee contribution is 5.2 lakhs & 5.2 lakhs by employer. Total service by 2028 will be 25 years.

Formula for monthly pension under EPS is:

Monthly pension=(pensionable salary X pensionable service)/70

The pensionable salary is the average monthly salary of the last 60 months.

Pensionable service is in number of years while being EPFO member.

Also EPF and EPS are two separate schemes.

EPF you get as lumpsum on retirement while EPS is the pension scheme.

12% of employee contribution and 3.67% of employer contribution goes towards EPF

While only 8.33% of employer contribution goes towards EPS.

As per above formula, your spouse may expect a monthly pension of around Rs. 5350/- after completion of 25 year service.

I want joint Life (wife- age now 48 years) annuity with return of purchase price to children at@60years. Kindly advise which company ASP (annuity service provider) pension is highest or comparison chart. (preferred HDFC, TATA AIA & SBI). please guide me.

Ans: Hello;

EPS scheme stops at 58 years of age and you may opt for deferred pension for two years i.e. upto 60 age.

Then you are supposed to get pension by submitting form 10 (D).

EPF contribution can continue till such time as you keep working.

In this case both employer as well as employee contribution go to EPF.

Opt for pension and continue in service till the time you want.

TOTAL INCOME WILL NOT EXCEEDS RS. 5 LAC FROM ALL SOURCES (INCLUDING LTCG AND STCG ON MUTUAL FUNDS). MY QUESTION IS THAT LTCG FOR THE CURRENT FY WILL EXCEEDS THRESHHOLD LIMIT OF RS. 1.25 LAC. KINDLY LET ME KNOW WILL I HAVE TO PAY TAX ON LTCG OVER AND ABOVE 1.25 LCS. (TOTAL LTCG AND STCG WILL BE APPROX. 3 LACS). THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Ans: 01. If your total income does not increase Rs.5.00 lakhs, you won't have to pay tax, since tax rebate u/s 87 would be available to you.
02. You total Income is Rs.5.40 (1.20+1.20+3.00) lakhs. If exemption of Rs.1.25 lakhs from LTCG has not been considered in above calculations, there will be no tax. Otherwise Tax liability would be there.

Ans: When pregnant, you should eat a variety of foods to ensure you, and your baby get the nutrients they need:
Fruits and vegetables:
Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, including dark leafy greens, to get vitamins and minerals.
Whole grains: Eat whole grains like brown rice, barley, quinoa, and whole-wheat bread.
Protein: Eat a variety of proteins, including lean meats, poultry, fish, eggs, beans, peas, nuts, and seeds.
Dairy: Choose pasteurized dairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt.

The chance of having a child with Down syndrome increases with the mother's age:
Age 25: The chance is about 1 in 1,200
Age 35: The chance is about 1 in 400
Age 40: The chance is about 1 in 100
Age 45: The chance is about 1 in 30
If you're over 35 and thinking about getting pregnant, you can:
Get genetic counseling to learn more about your risk
Get regular checkups
Eat a variety of healthy foods
Get regular exercise and plenty of rest
Avoid smoking, vaping, drinking alcohol, and using cannabis or other drugs
To start folic acid (vit B6 and B 12) and DHA 3 months prior to conception.
