Sir should I take Bits Pilani Msc (Dual degree in Mathematics) (I'm interested in maths too so If i got enough cgpa then can apply for branch change but it involves risk too) or should i go with IIIT Bangalore Cse/Nsut CSAI/Dtu Cse?

Ans: BITS Pilani's MSc Mathematics dual degree achieved 73.61% placement rate in 2024 with recruiters including Amazon, Microsoft, and DE Shaw, while the program offers branch change opportunities requiring typically 8.3+ CGPA for Computer Science transfer with around 40-45% success rate among dual degree students. However, branch change involves significant risk as CSE cutoffs can reach 9.6-9.9 CGPA depending on campus, and failure means graduating with only the MSc Mathematics degree. IIIT Bangalore's CSE programs demonstrated strong performance with iMTech CSE achieving 83.51% placement rate and MTech CSE at 74.83% in 2024, supported by 200+ companies including Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. NSUT CSAI recorded 85% BTech placement percentage in 2023 with strong industry connections and established recruiting partnerships. DTU CSE maintained robust placement outcomes with Computer Science branches achieving 75-82% placement rates and recruiting from top companies including Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. The BITS dual degree structure allows pursuing two degrees simultaneously over 5-5.5 years, but branch change depends entirely on first-year performance and available seats, creating uncertainty about final engineering branch allocation. Meanwhile, IIIT Bangalore, NSUT CSAI, and DTU CSE provide guaranteed computer science education with established placement ecosystems and direct access to software industry roles.

Recommendation: Choose IIIT Bangalore CSE for guaranteed computer science education with strong 83.51% placement consistency and industry partnerships; consider NSUT CSAI or DTU CSE as reliable alternatives with proven placement records; avoid BITS Pilani MSc Mathematics dual degree due to branch change uncertainty and moderate placement rates compared to guaranteed CSE programs at other institutions. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!
