Respected Sir, My son has got Industrial engineering in MIT, manipal. He has chance to get mechanical engineering in the sane campus. We see that industrial engineering is a very good course looking at the syllabus. It covers AI, automation, robotics, business management, computer programming, data analytics, supply chain.mgmt, layout planning, etc. Should we go with industrial engineering or with mechanical engineering.

Ans: It might be helpful for your son to consider his interests, strengths, and long-term career goals when making this decision. If he has a passion for both areas, he might also explore opportunities to combine skills from both fields in his career.

Interests and Strengths: If your son is more interested in combining engineering with business and enjoys working on improving processes and systems, Industrial Engineering might be a better fit. If he prefers working on the design and development of mechanical systems and devices, Mechanical Engineering could be more suitable.

Career Goals: Consider the type of industries and roles he is interested in. Industrial Engineering offers a broader range of business-oriented roles, while Mechanical Engineering is more focused on technical and design roles.
