Sir as from this year mht cet is conducted two times so is it possible that a student can give only second attempt without giving the first attempt

Ans: Welcome. But I am unable to understand why your son is not able to appear for the 1st attempt! We generally recommend appearing for the 1st attempt either for the JEE or MHT-CET. But anyway, the final decision is yours, son.

Sir on the same day,he has bits entrance exam and he is more interested in giving bits exam,is there any chance the cet cell can change his exam dates so that he can give both the exams

Ans: CET cell is considering changing the dates. Please write personally to the CET cell requesting the date change.

Dear sir My son is all india candidate for MHT CET exam.. his jee score is 95.10 .. is it compulsory for him to appear for MHT CET exam .. will he still be considered for admission even if he doesn't appear for MHT CET exam . And how ?

Ans: Hello Samriddh.
Here is the pointwise reply to your query: (1) No, it is not compulsory for your son to appear for the MHT-CET Examination. (2) Your son is eligible for admission through the All India Quota only and not through the state quota. (3) Please register for the CAP counselling conducted by the Maharashtra State CET Cell. Select the All India Quota option while applying, and submit his JEE Main score during the application process. Participate in the centralized admission rounds like everyone else, and keep a close eye on the cetcell.mahacet.org website. (4) However, it would be better for him to appear for the MHT-CET as well if he has applied to it. You will have more flexibility and stronger chances of getting into a top-tier college based on the MHT-CET score if he excels in it.

Ans: You have not mentioned your son's home state. Given his rank, securing a CSE seat in NITs may be challenging, but admission to ECE in some NITs and CSE/IT/ECE in several IIITs is more realistic, especially during the later JoSAA and CSAB rounds. Consider applying to IIIT Una, IIIT Kottayam, IIIT Dharwad, IIIT Kalyani, IIIT Bhagalpur, IIIT Raichur, IIIT Manipur, and IIIT Agartala. For ECE, newer and mid-tier NITs and IIITs are good options. The CSAB special rounds are crucial as they fill vacant seats after JoSAA. Ans: Admission to top NITS/IIITs seems unlikely. You can try lower-ranked govt colleges/IIITs or state colleges for CSE, or consider other branches in NITs via CSAB.

Ans: You have not mentioned your daughter's home state. Anyway, please note, with an 89.28 percentile as an EWS female candidate, the chances of securing a CSE seat in top NITs or IIITs are low. However, she may have opportunities in lower-ranked branches at newer NITs, some IIITs, and GFTIs, with better prospects during the CSAB special rounds. You can consider applying to IIIT Kurnool, IIIT Manipur, IIIT Dharwad, IIIT Raichur, IIIT Bhagalpur, IIIT Kalyani, and various GFTIs. While CSE and ECE seats may be challenging to obtain, other branches might become available in later rounds or through CSAB. Ans: You can try PEC Chandigarh through JAC Chandigarh separately, not JoSAA. Through JoSAA/CSAB, fill IIIT Una, IIIT Sonepat, IIIT Kalyani, IIIT Bhagalpur, IIIT Manipur, IIIT Raichur, IIIT Dharwad, but CSE/ECE may mostly depend on CSAB vacancy movement. You must have backup options of JAC Chandigarh, HSTES Haryana, Punjab colleges, IPU Delhi, Private Universities, and State counselling. Ans: Chances with South NITs are slim. You may try for lower branches in lower NITs. Yet the chances are on the borderline. Better to keep an alternative option open.

Ans: At CRL 28,550, NIT CSE is difficult, including MNNIT Allahabad CSE. Better CSE chances are in IIITs, especially IIIT Bhagalpur, IIIT Kalyani, IIIT Agartala, IIIT Raichur, IIIT Dharwad, IIIT Manipur, IIIT Kottayam, IIIT Una/Sonepat in later rounds or CSAB. Some 2024 IIIT CSE closing ranks crossed 30k–37k. Also fill ECE/IT/AI-related branches in better IIITs and lower NIT branches. Have CSAB as a backup option. Hi Sir, My Son has score 98.4 percentile in JEE Mains 2026 and CRL is 25624. We are General Category, Gender-Neutral and Home state is Telangana. He is more interest in Mechanical Stream for the b.Tech. Can you please advise best possible college options for him?

Ans: At CRL 25,624, General male, Telangana HS, Mechanical is a realistic target. NIT Warangal Mechanical may be difficult in regular JoSAA, as recent HS Open Mechanical closing ranks were around 15k–17k in early 2025 rounds and around 15k in 2024 Round 1. Better Mechanical options: NIT Calicut, NIT Rourkela, NIT Durgapur, NIT Patna, NIT Raipur, MANIT Bhopal, VNIT Nagpur, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Silchar, plus CSAB round. Also consider NIT Warangal Metallurgy/Chemical/Civil. dditionally, please review the JoSAA opening and closing ranks from the last 2-3 years to gain further insights and better understand admission trends. My son attended both session of JEE mains 2026 exam. His sesdion result is clear but in result of session 2 remark shows 'Result Later'. I emailed regarding this to NTA but no response received from their side. When I call on helpline number they says only wait. What can I do sir please guide me.

Ans: If your son’s Session 2 shows "Result Later”, it usually means the NTA has kept the result on hold for verification (may be due to document/photo/signature mismatch or data review), so apart from waiting, keep checking the official JEE portal regularly, ensure all uploaded details were correct, and meanwhile send a follow-up email with application number and proof plus try contacting through multiple NTA helplines. If it still doesn’t resolve soon, raise a grievance on the NTA portal or visit a nearby facilitation center if available.

(One more possibility - Please ask your son if anything went wrong at the exam center with him, i.e., with the invigilator or with anyone else? If the invigilator has noted anything about him, the NTA may also keep the result on hold.)
