Pradeep Pramanik is a career coach, placement consultant and director at Fast Track Career Consultants, which provides career counselling, soft skills training and placement consultancy services.
Pradeep, who hails from Bhagalpur in Bihar, has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 15 years in sales, marketing, training and product management roles in companies like Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Elder Pharmaceuticals and Ranbaxy Laboratories.
During his tenure in the pharma industry, he has worked in different states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
In 1998, he launched Fast Track Career Consultants with the aim of helping youngsters find jobs through the right career counselling, training and placement services.

Iam studying in 7th grade. I want to become an IITan. What are the skills I have to learn from now itself? How much should I score in an academic year?

Ans: Dear , Happy to know that you have already aimed to join elite institutes like IIT. Though it is too early however the basic criteria are Good at Maths, Analytical abilities , English & GS . Once you start preparation after your 11th , you will get enough idea , how to crack. There are Guides availble, Coaching institutes are also there who can help you. .

Ans: Scoring 89 in the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) under the General category places your rank above 2000 based on 2025 expected trends, significantly below the minimum cutoff marks (110-130) required for admission to any IISER campus in the General category. While newer campuses like IISER Berhampur or Tirupati historically have lower cutoffs (105-110 marks), even these remain unattainable with 89 marks, as scores below 95 generally correspond to ranks beyond 1500, far exceeding typical IISER closing ranks (e.g., IISER Pune: ~720; Berhampur: ~4,500). Given this substantial gap, admission through IAT is highly unlikely, and exploring alternative pathways or reappearing with improved preparation is strongly recommended. Before you finally pin down on any course , 'you must consider certain points : Your own interest , course fee and college , financial conditions , Future of Courses ( In next 5-10 yrs ) etc. Location , now a days is also an important factor , one has to consider . If you have interest in Mines . Metallurgy , Production Engineering You must prefer to join on prority.

M.Sc in Bio Sciences , from BITS Pilani , Both courses and institute are well known and offers decent career where as Engineering in Environment , Vulnerability Decision Technology from NSUT Dwarka is comparatably new engineering course but has great future in coming years . In fact unlike past En'gineering courses in Newer fields are more in demand and career growth and packages offered are impressive. So you can choose as per your interest . However , If you want my opinion ,I would suggest you to go for EVDT .
