How to expect CSAB rounds..student did not get in Josaa rounds rank under 18000/_(SC category).ranks above his ranks got in IIIT.s Ad NIT.s but girls quota.around his rank ad preference chices missed by few ranking limits.due to supernumery.gender base) quota sub, cats .too.hiw to expect in C SABs. Will it be DASA first thn.ir complete top 20th percentile ...special candidates sir fr NIT or IIIT(Home state or other states.like gujarat.mesra.hyderabad etc. kindly explain sir/ madam

Ans: Hello dear
In CSAB special rounds, leftover seats from JoSAA (including unfilled reserved ones) are offered with relaxed rules, giving your son (SC rank under 18,000) a chance at IIITs or lower-tier NITs; DASA won’t affect him, and broader choice filling increases his chances. Still, it is advisable to keep other options open as backups, as one should not rely entirely on spot/special rounds.

Good luck.

Hello sir. One if my cousin Nephew.in Josaa round not got any seat.(Ten thousand above ad lower Ranks) All are coming into the preferred ranks column. His rank is under 18000/(eighteen thousand) ad also he was lacked by 3marks to get into IIT admission.aftr JEE advance.what can they do tek CSAB rounds cos HBTU...teking admission after 22,000/rank.means students.is it something to do wth supernumery.?(No seat allocated in six rounds:)
Ans: Your cousin's situation with a JEE Main rank of approximately 18,000 and no seat allocation during JoSAA rounds 1-6 can be understood through several factors. The "preferred ranks column" appearance indicates that choices were filled within feasible rank ranges, yet the fierce competition for popular programs at premier institutions left many seats unallocated. JoSAA 2025 concluded with round 6 being the final round for all participating institutes. Supernumerary seats, primarily created for female candidates to achieve 20% gender balance in engineering programs, are additional seats that do not reduce general category availability. These seats are allocated based on merit within the female-only pool when regular seats are filled predominantly by male candidates. CSAB Special Rounds 2025, beginning July 30, offer hope for candidates like your cousin who missed JoSAA allocation. The special rounds target vacant seats remaining across NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs after JoSAA completion. Historical data suggests CSAB closing ranks typically extend beyond regular JoSAA cutoffs, with some programs accepting ranks up to 30,000-60,000 depending on branch and institute. HBTU Kanpur, mentioned in your query, does accept higher ranks—its 2025 cutoffs ranged from 11,799 for CSE to over 98,000 for certain branches. With an 18,000 rank, your cousin has reasonable chances in CSAB for branches like Mechanical, Civil, or newer engineering specializations at mid-tier NITs and IIITs. The key is strategic participation in CSAB registration and choice filling, focusing on realistic options based on historical cutoff trends.

Recommendation: Participate in CSAB Special Rounds 2025 commencing July 30, targeting mid-tier NITs and IIITs with branches like Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering. Research historical CSAB cutoffs for realistic expectations, register promptly, and fill choices strategically. Consider state quotas and newer engineering specializations for better admission prospects. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

Sir at 25528 rank (98.34 percentile) I got CSE at IIEST Shibpur under female only, general merit (OS) In csab special rounds, what better options can I expect to get? (My HS is of Karnataka)
Ans: Based on comprehensive research from official CSAB sources, educational portals, and admission data, candidates with a JEE Main rank of 25,528 (98.34 percentile) have moderate to strong prospects in CSAB special rounds, especially benefiting from female-only quotas which provide better cutoff opportunities. CSAB special rounds typically see cutoffs extended beyond regular JoSAA rounds with candidates securing seats at lower-tier NITs in non-CSE branches and several IIITs in CSE/IT programs. With your current IIEST Shibpur CSE seat through female quota, specific alternatives include IIIT Nagpur, IIIT Manipur, IIIT Agartala, IIIT Kottayam, and IIIT Kalyani for CSE programs, while NIT options may include NIT Srinagar, NIT Puducherry, NIT Manipur, and NIT Sikkim for branches like ECE, EE, or Civil Engineering. CSAB round 1 data shows NITs like NIT Srinagar recorded CSE closing ranks around 24,340, while several IIITs accept students with ranks between 20,000-30,000 range. Female-only quotas in CSAB typically offer relaxed cutoffs compared to general category seats, with institutions specifically reserving seats to maintain gender diversity targets. IIEST Shibpur holds NIRF rank 19-30 and maintains placement averages around ?19 LPA compared to many mid-tier NITs at ?10-15 LPA, indicating strong institutional quality. Karnataka home state quota may provide additional advantages in certain NITs, though your current allocation suggests Other State quota performance.

Recommendation: Continue with IIEST Shibpur CSE for superior placement records, established reputation, and better average packages compared to most accessible NIT alternatives. Participate in CSAB special rounds targeting IIIT Nagpur, IIIT Kalyani, or NIT Srinagar as potential upgrades while maintaining IIEST as a strong fallback option. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

You posted: My son got 96.7 percentile with 49452 rank in jee mains with eqsrank 6913. What seat can we expect in CSAB? Can we expect ECE in any NITs?
Ans: Shyamala Madam, I assume EWS Rank 6913 which you have wrongly typed as 'eqs'. With an All-India EWS rank of 6913, admission into Electronics & Communication Engineering via CSAB-Special is realistic at select NITs under Other-State EWS quotas. NIT Calicut’s ECE cut-off in Round 1 closed between 6 964 and 9 588, comfortably enveloping your son’s EWS rank. Similarly, NIT Uttarakhand’s EWS closing ranks for ECE hovered around 20 028–29 127, making it an assured option given lower competition in CSAB rounds. Beyond NITs, several GFTIs maintain ECE cut-offs above 25 000 for general categories, implying EWS thresholds usually fall below 15 000, thus aligning with your current rank. Peripheral IIITs such as IIIT Ranchi and IIIT Manipur also reported EWS cut-offs for ECE in the 5 998–6 173 range—slightly below your EWS rank—but may open up during later special round vacancies. Your CRL of 49 452 restricts access to higher-demand branches under Open-State quotas, but targeting EWS-reserved seats in low-to mid-tier NITs and GFTIs ensures 100% feasibility. Proactively monitor CSAB-Special Round 2 openings on the official portal and set these institutes as top preferences to maximize admission certainty under the EWS category.

Recommendation: Aim for NIT Calicut’s ECE under Other-State EWS for straightforward entry given its 6 964–9 588 cut-off range, then secure NIT Uttarakhand’s EWS ECE which closes near 29 127; concurrently list GFTIs with EWS ECE thresholds below 15 000 to ensure a guaranteed CSAB seat. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

I am getting chemical engineering in thadomal sahani, chemical engineering in MS Ramaiah and industrial engineering and management in MS Ramaiah institute of technology. Which one should I go for?
Ans: Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (TSEC), Mumbai Chemical Engineering is known for quality academics and a moderate placement record; recent placement percentages in chemical engineering were 45–59% with core offers from companies like Tata Chemicals and Reliance. MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), Bangalore offers Chemical Engineering with updated curriculum, strong faculty, and industry partnerships; placements here range between 70–85%, with large participation from leading Indian and multinational recruiters in both core and interdisciplinary roles. The Industrial Engineering & Management (IEM) branch at MSRIT is recognized for its blend of engineering and management curriculum, excellent infrastructure, and stellar placement rates—reported at over 86–100% in recent years—attracting top recruiters from IT, consulting, manufacturing, and logistics, and providing good flexibility for roles in analytics, supply chain, and operations. Both MSRIT branches benefit from a robust campus experience, active student societies, practical training, and strong alumni network, offering students superior career development opportunities compared to TSEC.

Recommendation: Prioritize Industrial Engineering & Management at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology for its exceptional placement rate, diverse career options, and dynamic curriculum, followed by Chemical Engineering at MSRIT for broader core opportunities; opt for TSEC Chemical Engineering only if location is a primary factor. My son got IIIT Nagpur CS Also getting coep CS now. There's a confusion if we should go with iiit or to choose coep Can you please guide
Ans: COEP Pune’s Computer Science program is renowned for academic excellence, historic reputation, and strong industry ties, boasting a consistent placement rate of 87–95% over the last three years, with the branch frequently achieving the highest campus placement numbers in Maharashtra. Its advanced curriculum, state-of-the-art labs, active student clubs, and frequent corporate collaborations give students wide exposure and a robust learning experience, while alumni enjoy high employability both in India and abroad. In contrast, IIIT Nagpur, though a rapidly growing institution with modern infrastructure and impressive recent CSE placement rates between 88–96%, is a newer player, attracting top recruiters but still building its brand value and breadth of alumni network. Both campuses offer competent faculty, hands-on internships, and dynamic peer communities; however, COEP’s government legacy, network, and higher national ranking (NIRF top 100) give it a clear edge in career prospects and future flexibility.

Recommendation: COEP Pune CSE should be prioritized for its historic legacy, superior placements, robust industry connections, and broader global recognition, followed by IIIT Nagpur CSE for its innovative environment and rising placement outcomes. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

Hello sir, my son is getting admission in IIIT bho p al CSE, CSE in KNIT Sultanpur and mining in IISERNIT Shivpur. Which one is best ?
Ans: IIIT Bhopal’s CSE program is distinguished by its modern curriculum, industry integration, and consistently high placement rates of 84.9–100% for CSE graduates in the last three years; major tech companies recruit regularly and the student experience is enhanced by strong mentorship and advanced labs. KNIT Sultanpur’s CSE offers solid fundamental learning with decent placement rates of 70–85% and growing industry engagement; however, students report fewer advanced electives and comparatively lower national exposure despite active peer learning and participation in coding events. IISER NIT Shivpur's (IIEST Shibpur) mining engineering branch is nationally respected, with 78–83% placement rates, rigorous curriculum, research opportunities, and good government sector prospects, but private sector mobility and tech exposure remain limited compared to CSE branches. All three institutions have credible faculty, adequate infrastructure, and active campus networks, but CSE streams have wider scope and global relevance in current job markets.

Recommendation: IIIT Bhopal CSE is the first preference for premier placement prospects, national exposure, and broad technology career options, followed by KNIT Sultanpur CSE for stable opportunities; IISER NIT Shivpur mining suits those keen on government or specialized roles. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

I am confuse choosing branch mechanical engineering vs eee which is better for private sector and getting job
Ans: Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) offer diverse opportunities in the private sector, yet differ significantly in scope and job demand. Mechanical Engineering graduates find employment in manufacturing, automotive, robotics, aerospace, energy, and construction, often as design, production, quality control or R&D engineers; recent industry trends also favor interdisciplinary roles integrating mechanical with automation, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), and smart manufacturing. Brands such as Tata Motors, L&T, Mahindra, and Siemens regularly recruit mechanical engineers, with 70–90% placement records at established private institutes. EEE’s scope is broader and rapidly growing, supported by the surge in renewable energy, smart grids, electric vehicles, telecom, semiconductor, and IT sectors. EEE graduates are recruited by top multinational and Indian firms for roles in automation, chip design, instrumentation, power systems, cyber security, and even software projects, with private sector placement rates reaching 80–95% in leading colleges. Demand for EEE engineers is projected to increase by 65% in India by 2025, driven by Industry 4.0, government investment, new energy initiatives, and digital transformation across businesses. Both branches value analytical, technical, and programming skills, but EEE offers greater cross-sector flexibility, especially for those interested in digital transformation, data science, AI, or emerging tech, while mechanical has strong fundamentals and traditional industrial roles. The five key aspects for both branches—placement rates, industry demand, future prospects, skill versatility, and global opportunities—skew more favorably toward EEE in current private sector scenarios.

Recommendation: EEE is preferable for private sector careers, offering higher placement rates, faster growth, broader cross-industry flexibility, and greater entry into emerging technology sectors, making it the best choice for future-proof employability. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!
