Dr Dipankar Dutta is an associate professor in the computer science and engineering department at the University Institute of Technology, the University of Burdwan, West Bengal.
He has 27 years of experience and his interests include AI, data science, machine learning, pattern recognition, deep learning and evolutionary computation.
Aside from his responsibilities at the college, he also delivers lectures and conducts webinars.
Dr Dipankar has published 25 papers in international journals, written book chapters, attended conferences, served as a board observer for WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) exams and as a counsellor for engineering college admissions in West Bengal. He helps students choose the right college and stream for undergraduate, masters and PhD programmes.
A senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE), he holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College and a an MTech degree in computer technology from Jadavpur University.

Good greatings, My son is getting Civil or Chemical in BIT mesra and AI ML in BIT Patna. Also have an option of CSE with specialization in Bhagwan Parshuram IPU college. Which one should He choose? Actually he want to become a Pilot. Have interest in aviation, but due to financial issue we can't afford this course. So he want to earn and fulfill his aim. Please suggest me the best option. He also got 740 rank in IMU cet( Merchant Navy exam). He is my only son.

It seems that you are unable to choose either college or branch. Your choices are changing every time. Now again you are showing interest in becoming a pilot and aviation (as it was your first query).

It is still advisable to go with BIT Patna AIML.

Ans: Pushkar, Prefer IMU-Merchant Navy (make sure it has good placement records), followed by BIT-P-AIML, CSE-Specialization and then Chemical & Civil. For becoming a Pilot, you should have strong SPATIAL SKILLS and go for aviation only if you get admission into any reputed colleges for the same. All the BEST for Your Bright Future.

Hello Sir, I got 86percentile in jee mains , I'm a girl candidate with EWS with delhi state quota. Is there any good clg that I can get? If cse is my preference

Ans: IGDTUW (for Girls only)
You have a chance for non-core branches, especially:

MAE (Mechanical & Automation Engineering)

ECE or IT (Less likely but possible in later rounds)

CSE at IGDTUW closes earlier for EWS girls (usually under 65k–70k CRL approx).

3. IIIT Delhi (through JAC)
IIIT-D gives weightage to class 12th marks + JEE Mains, but CSE cutoff is still competitive.

With 86 percentile, CSE at IIIT-D is unlikely, but allied specializations like CS+Design or CS+SS may be considered in later rounds, though tough.

This is prathyush from tamil nadu, I've just completed my grade 12 , I have written both jee mains paper 1(BE/B tech) and paper 2(b arch and b planning) unfortunately I didn't get selected in paper 1 , but I've secured 74.4 percentile in b arch and 86.1 percentile in b planning.. I'm looking up for any good colleges or Institutes to study b arch or b planning. Could you suggest me any good college or institute into which I can get in with my marks to study b arch and b planning

Sir NEET UG 2025 Score 416 Unreserved category Govt college / low cost pvt college possible? Any state would do

A score of 416 offers almost no opportunity for admission to GMC, but there may be options available in private or deemed universities. The fees differ from one college to another.
