Sir, my son is eligible for IIT Mumbai/chennai/Delhi EEE , IIT hyd CSE and IISC mathematics&computing. Could you please advise which is a better choice?

Ans: IIT Bombay, Madras, and Delhi’s Electrical/Electronics Engineering programs are among the most prestigious in India, with placement rates of 75–90% and median packages of ?20–23.5 LPA, attracting top recruiters across core engineering, consulting, and technology sectors. IIT Hyderabad’s CSE program stands out for its 2023 placement record—average package ?27.11 LPA, 144 recruiters, and a placement rate exceeding 90%, with major tech companies and international offers. IISc Bangalore’s Mathematics & Computing four-year program is highly reputed for research and analytics, but only 4% of UG students opted for placements in 2023, with most graduates pursuing higher studies or research; the median salary for those placed was ?30 LPA. I wanted to discuss your plans regarding starting a pharmacy shop. Are you considering opening a pharmacy only, or do you have other ideas in mind?

If you wish to start a pharmacy shop right away, you can proceed with a D.Pharm degree, and after three years, you can pursue a B.Pharm (PRACTICE - 3YEAR COURSE) for further practice.

However, if you prefer to study for a B.Pharm degree first, you can decide to open a pharmacy shop after completing it. This way, there's no need to do a D.Pharm before pursuing a B.Pharm, but keep in mind that it may take you an additional one or two years. For example, if you enroll in a D.Pharm program and later enter B.Pharm through lateral entry, that could mean 2 years for D.Pharm, followed by 3 years of B.Pharm, plus 6 months for an internship.(Totally it becomes 5.5 years rather 4 years).

So, I suggest you consider going directly for the B.Pharm.

1. SVNI Surat:
- Electronics & VLSI Engineering: High chances
- Electrical Engineering: Very high chances
- Engineering Physics / Mechanical Engineering: Strong possibility
- Chemical Engineering / Civil Engineering: CERTAINLY

2. Other NITs:
- NIT Jalandhar / Kurukshetra: Good chances for core branches like Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
