My son got job offer from 2 Company Accenture and ITC infotech as software engineer. He has total 3 yrs experience of service and 6 months as a developer. Please suggest which company decide to join with learn technical training.

Ans: Dear , Since your question is somehow incomplete as your son's position, package , Location , Domain etc are not mentioned . If he gets better offer based on all these parameters , , he may opt for Accenture if that offers better deal. If not ITC Infotech, a home grown IT company , doing equally well.

Ans: No. You son won't be liable to pay any income tax on this transaction, since this is a loan not an income of your son. You are advised to complete this transaction through banking channels only.

I have been doing SIP in an equity mutual fund of Rs 2000 in an equity mutual fund from Jan 2020 to Feb 2023. The total amount has grown to 1.25 Lakh. If I make full withdrawl, how will my capital gains be taxed?

Ans: This transaction would be covered under LTCG. However, there is exemption of Rs.1,25,000.00 from LTCG & amount of your LTCG may be even less than this amount, hence no tax may be payable on this.

I am 73 years old getting central gov. pension filing ITR-1 since long.in FY 23-24 i had rs. 339000/- LTCG in sell of equity share +MF. my tax fall within 20% in old regime . My humble query is how i show the LTCG income in ITR-1 in absence of any specific column further, in such case do i have to pay tax on the LTCG income @20% instead of @10%. pl. suggest your expert view.

Ans: In case of Income from capital gain, you are required to file ITR 2

father gives his commercial property to son on zero rent lease agreement, further son sublet the same property on rent and keeps money in his account. can the son disclose this income in his itr and will the income tax department ask the father to pay tax on said income as he owns the property.

Ans: As property is transferred by father to son with proper agreement, rental income is likely to be taxable in the hands of son.

I was working for company A for 3 years, and accumulated a PF of 10 Lakhs , I then left the company to work for a startup having only 5 employees so no PF was paid as it was not mandatory . I have completed 2 yrs in this company so far . I would want to withdraw my PF to purchase property. So in this case would this be considered 5 yrs of continuous service to avoid 10% deduction

Ans: In my view, same will not be considered as 5 years continuous service.

I have invested in gold mines and made a profit. I request a window for only 10% USD from my investment and profit. But from the platform from which I earned this profit, I received a mail that if you want to withdraw this money, then you have to pay 25% tax in USA on the amount of profit you have made, only then you can withdraw this amount. If I pay that tax there, will I have to pay tax in India even on the amount that comes back?

Ans: For resident, income earned outside is also taxable in India subject to benefit of foreign tax credit with specified conditions.

Further, when said money comes back, there will not be any tax on the same.

Good afternoon. i have just sold a flat for 95 lakhs. And i plan to reinvest the entire proceeds in an under-construction flat over th period of 3 years from the date of sale. However during these 3 years, i will still be having a part of the sale proceeds at any point of time. So can i use these sales proceeds immediately in whole or in part, for purchasing some other commercial property and for my sons education ? However, I will still be able to generate other monies to pay for the underconstruction property which I have invested. In such a case, do I need to pay Capital Gains Tax even though I have complied with the reinvestment rule of SEction 54 ?

Ans: For taking benefit of Sec 54, amount of gain is required to be invested in new property. You can use balance money any other purpose

I have purchased a flat in 2010 for Rs25,00,000 and have received possession in December 2024. I have purchased another flat in 2012 for 90,00,000 but didn't get the possession yet. Have availed bank loan and 90% of the payment was done by 2015. Now can I sell my earlier flat and use the capital gains to pay the home loan of the second flat. Will it be exempt from Long Term Capital gains tax?

Ans: No, capital gain will not be exempt as gain amount is not likely to be invested in another property post sell of earlier flat

i am in a relationship with a guy who is 1 year older than me, we have a really good relationship, lot of things between us is common , similar values, beliefs , same sense of humour and we both admire each other so much but he is from jaat community and his parents are against of our marriage, initially he said i will convence them but later on accepted his mothers wish but then again came back to me saying he loves me than later on again accepted a another arrange marriage proposal, i am not sure what is wrong with him , what does he want, we have such a happy fun loving relationship like best friends and we enjoy we others time a lot i just dont get it what does he want

You are not sure what is wrong with him? You are in relationship with someone who cannot make a commitment and will get swayed by what others say.
He wants all the nice moments and fun times and not the commitment part. Huge red flag for you!
Guard yourself now and be smart to not give in anymore to him; it's possible that he may go ahead and listen to what his mother says and you will end up getting hurt even more. Take care of that...

Dear Anu, me and my wife have emotionally and physically detached from each other for 7yrs now. We are 46and 40 with 11and 7yr kids. The reason for the detachment was lack of intimacy from beginning. I have healed my anxious attachment through therapy and she is an avoidant who says she doesn't want to change for me but wants get divorced and co parent. Since I do not want to get separated but want to resolve. We are in a gridlock situation. Should I stay passive and stay like roommates till she changes her mind and sees the good side of me or should I give a deadline to her and if she doesn't change file for divorce and fight for custody. Coz I find it too painful for me to get divorced and still be in touch with her like friends

I am guessing that if you have healed from what you say that you have worked on, you may possibly know ways of communicating with your wife you is different from you. You have had the opportunity to make this change but she still hasn't, right? So, why not actually help her through it (of course, if she wishes to). That way you will not be in a passive state. Make an attempt...
But if she's stubborn about wanting divorce, there's little that you can do!
