Career

Sir, my son got iiser bhopal btech. He got msrit cse aids. Which one to prefer. He is a good student. Please help . Are placements in iisers that bad.

Ans: IISER Bhopal offers a research-oriented B.Tech program primarily focused on scientific inquiry, with a placement rate for B.Tech students around 5-10% as most graduates pursue higher studies like MSc or PhD. The median salary for placed students ranges widely, with some reports indicating 9-19 LPA for engineering disciplines, but overall placement numbers are limited because many opt for academic careers. In contrast, MSRIT's CSE AI & DS branch boasts about a 95% placement rate, with robust industry engagement, higher average packages around 7-8 LPA, and recruiters from leading tech firms, reflecting strong campus drive activities and dedicated training. Both institutes have good faculty and infrastructure, but MSRIT provides a more structured, industry-linked placement environment suited for immediate tech careers, while IISER Bhopal focuses on research and academic excellence.

Recommendation: For a student keen on industry placements and early career entry in AI and data science, MSRIT CSE AI & DS is the preferable choice. If your son is motivated by research and willing to pursue advanced studies with a focus on science and engineering, IISER Bhopal offers unique advantages. Align the decision with his career aspirations—industry roles favor MSRIT, academic and research pathways suit IISER. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!
