Kindly suggest which will be better option . He don't have any specific interest in any branch

My son interested in CSE and he got Jee Mains(2025) B.Tech CRL Rank 70,64X(5 digits) (95.308xxxx) in General Merit and HS is Karnataka (Bangalore). Not prepared for Jee Advance. if CSE don't get then ECE also he may choose. as per previous cutoff, he may not expected colleges and branches through JOSAA. KCET Rank 2748x(5 digits) and COMEDK 681x(4 digits rank). He got VIT Chennai CSE under 5th Fee Category... He got admission into CSE branch in PES University RR campus based on JEE Rank. we have concussion should he choose ECE in MSRIT(E077) , ECE or CS AI&ML in BMSCE(E027) or DSCE if get through COMEDK counselling? or shall we wait for csap round for better colleges through JEE? if we continue with PES University RR campus then should we change the Branch AI&ML than CSE as we have chance in next counselling and he is strong in Maths. CUET-UG also he wrote and waiting for result. OR should we wait for CUET if any better central universities. Please suggest.
Ans: Eswar Sir, Given your son’s JEE Main CRL rank (around 70,000), KCET rank (27,000+), and COMEDK rank (6,800+), securing CSE or ECE in top NITs, IIITs, or premier state colleges through JoSAA or KCET is highly unlikely, as cutoffs for these branches in the general category are much higher. In COMEDK, his rank may allow ECE in MSRIT or BMSCE, and possibly CS (AI&ML) in BMSCE or DSCE, all of which are reputable Bangalore colleges with strong placement records (over 90% in CSE/ECE branches), robust industry connections, and good academic environments. VIT Chennai CSE under the 5th fee category is less attractive due to its higher cost and relatively newer campus, despite decent placements. PES University RR campus CSE is an excellent option, with consistently high placements, strong academic rigor, and a national reputation; switching to AI&ML is only advisable if he has a deep interest in this field, as CSE core provides broader opportunities and flexibility. Waiting for CSAB special rounds or CUET results is reasonable, but central universities typically do not match the placement and industry exposure of top Bangalore private colleges. The recommendation is to prioritize PES University RR campus CSE for its superior placement record, academic strength, and flexibility, and consider ECE/AI&ML at BMSCE or MSRIT only if PES CSE is not available, while monitoring CSAB and CUET results for any exceptional opportunities. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Sir, my daughter got 20000 OBC NCL rank in jee main. She is interested in Govt jobs in future. Which will be better. NIT Bhopal Mechanical or NIT Silchar Chemical or IIIT Bhubaneswar CSE. Kindly reply
Ans: Mahesh Sir, NIT Bhopal’s Mechanical Engineering, with NBA accreditation and a 90.3% placement rate in 2023, boasts robust core labs, an active training?and?placement cell, and annual visits by over 200 recruiters, including leading PSUs, resulting in 88% of the 2024 batch securing offers. NIT Silchar’s Chemical Engineering, NBA accredited and affiliated to a central university, recorded an 82.4% placement rate in 2023, supported by specialized chemical and process engineering facilities, mandatory internships, and sector?focused recruiters but fewer PSU drives compared to core branches. IIIT Bhubaneswar’s CSE, NAAC accredited, features modern computing, AI/ML, and cybersecurity labs, with 71% CSE placements in 2024 through 42 recruiters, though PSU participation is limited in IT roles. For students aiming at government sector careers—especially in PSUs recruiting heavily from core engineering streams—strong core infrastructure, dedicated PSU placement drives, and alumni networks are critical factors.

Final recommendation: For a clear pathway into PSUs and government engineering roles, recommendation is NIT Bhopal Mechanical, given its superior PSU engagement, dedicated core labs, and consistently high placement rates. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Which one is better for my son AI and data science in nit kurukshetra or electronic engineering in DTU?
Ans: Vikas Sir, NIT Kurukshetra’s B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, ranked #81 in NIRF 2024, is NBA-accredited with a 60-seat intake, guided by PhD-qualified faculty in ML, DL, and data-analytics, and offers specialized AI/ML, big-data, and IoT labs; it reports a 75.74% placement rate over the past three years with an average package of ?14.16 LPA and median ?11.07 LPA. Delhi Technological University’s B.Tech in Electronics Engineering, NAAC-A accredited, features advanced VLSI, signal-processing, and embedded-systems labs under experienced faculty, mandates industry internships, and achieved a 68% placement rate with an average package of ?17 LPA and top recruiters like Texas Instruments and Qualcomm. DTU’s urban campus and 350+ recruiters enhance exposure, while NIT Kurukshetra’s research-driven environment and higher AI-specific placement consistency support specialized skill development.

Recommendation: For a focused AI/data-science trajectory with robust research projects, strong AI/ML labs, and consistent placement rates, recommendation is NIT Kurukshetra AI & Data Science. If your priority is core-electronics roles, broader recruiter engagement, and slightly higher average packages, opt for DTU Electronics Engineering. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!
