Dear sir, my son got admission in Electronics and computer engineering at VIT cat1 (skipped cse coz of huge crowd) chennai and CSE at Sastra university. His JEE main score -89 percentile and VITEEE score around - 8K, BITSAT - 210, CBSE board- 91%. Pls advise if he can take drop and try JEE main / advance / BITSAT in 2026. He is inclined to take 1 year drop.

Ans: Hello dear,
Please reconsider the idea of taking a drop so far. There is no guarantee of success even after taking a drop. He got CSE @ Sastra. If not satisfied with Sastra, then choose the preferred private college with the branch of your choice and take admission to save one crucial year. The final decision will be yours.
Good luck!

Sir, my son may get ECE/EEE in SSN, Chennai. Pls advise between Sastra CSE vs SSN ECE/EEE for the placements scope and future career.
Ans: CSE and EEE/ECE are different branches with varying focuses. Decide on either CSE or ECE/EEE. Once a choice is made, the college is also automatically determined. It is recommended to prefer CSE. Now, you can select between the two options. Best of luck.
