My son got 96.75% tile in jee main we are from obc ncl category his category rank is 15539 and all India rank is 51441 Home state Bihar any chance for ECE

Ans: Sanjay Sir, For NIT Patna, the Bihar home-state quota is advantageous, but admission to ECE may be borderline or difficult since recent OBC-NCL ECE closing ranks have typically been around the 18,000 category-rank range, so he should definitely try. More realistic ECE chances might be found at NIT Arunachal Pradesh, NIT Manipur, NIT Meghalaya, NIT Mizoram, NIT Nagaland, NIT Sikkim, and some newer IIITs or GFTIs, depending on 2026 seat movement. It is also wise to include Electrical and Electronics & Instrumentation branches as backup options. A good strategy is to fill choices starting with NIT Patna ECE and EE, followed by newer NIT ECE branches, IIIT ECE, and GFTIs, and to register for CSAB Special Rounds after JoSAA. Additionally, having Plan B and Plan C backup options is recommended if possible. ALL the BEST for Your Son's Prosperous Future!
