I got 66percantalie ( rank 180456) in OBC category in jee mains and ap emcet got 68k rank which college I get

Ans: With a 66 percentile (rank 180456, OBC) in JEE Mains, admission to NITs, IIITs, or top GFTIs is not possible, but you can secure seats in private universities such as SRM, LPU, Amity, Galgotias, and MIT WPU, or state colleges in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh that accept 60–70 percentile JEE scores. For AP EAMCET with a 68,000 rank, you are eligible for core branches like ECE, EEE, Mechanical, Civil, or even CSE/Data Science in many private and mid-tier Andhra Pradesh colleges, including Narasaraopeta Engineering College, Priyadarshini Institute of Technology, and NVR College of Engineering, as their CSE/ECE/EEE cutoffs extend up to 1,15,000–1,40,000 in several cases. Top government colleges like JNTUK, AU, or SVU are out of reach for CSE, but lower-demand branches may be possible in later rounds.

The recommendation is to focus on AP EAMCET counselling for CSE, ECE, EEE, or Mechanical in private and mid-tier Andhra Pradesh colleges, and apply to private universities accepting your JEE Main percentile for backup, as these offer the best chances for admission and career growth at your scores. Ans: Based on your daughter's score, top NIT/IIIT CSE or ECE admissions are unlikely. Also, the home state for JoSAA counseling depends primarily on the Class 12 state of eligibility, not the current residence. For example, if Class 12 was completed in Gujarat, the Gujarat HS quota applies, not Delhi. A top NIT/IIIT CSE/ECE is unlikely. Also, home state in JoSAA depends mainly on Class 12 state of eligibility, not where she is staying; if Class 12 is from Gujarat, use the Gujarat HS quota, not Delhi. JoSAA publishes institute-wise opening/closing ranks for verification.

Probable JoSAA/CSAB options: SVNIT Surat lower branches only as a long shot in CSAB, not CSE/ECE; try GFTIs like Assam University, Gurukula Kangri, Mizoram University, SMVDU, and other lower-demand branches. For better branches, target Gujarat/private options: Nirma, PDEU, DAIICT for ICT-related if eligible, DDU Nadiad, CSPIT/CHARUSAT, LDCE/other ACPC colleges, plus Thapar, Jaypee, Manipal Jaipur, SRM, and VIT-AP/Bhopal. However, she should also remain adaptable and open to changing her focus if her interests evolve during her undergraduate program by upgrading her skills and staying informed about job market trends. Answering your question, please note, for placement security, VIT Vellore ECE is the best choice, offering a strong balance of brand reputation, alumni network, recruiters, and access to tech placements, with VIT reporting top recruiters and a high CTC of ?1 crore across all campuses. VIT Vellore EEE is a good option only if she is committed to developing strong coding and electronics skills. The AI-ML branch at VIT AP or Bhopal is attractive, though the campus brand is not as established as Vellore; notably, VIT Bhopal reported a highest package of 51 LPA and over 1,100 placements for 2025. Mahindra University’s CSE/AI program is a promising emerging option, with an average salary of 9.1 LPA and a highest package of 40 LPA in 2024. Ans: Based on your score, NIT Trichy CSE/ECE and IIITDM Kancheepuram CSE/ECE are not realistic, as JoSAA OBC ranks close much earlier. Try CSAB special rounds for lower branches in NITs/GFTIs, but for CSE/ECE, focus on Tamil Nadu and nearby private/state options: SASTRA, SRM KTR, VIT Chennai/AP (if eligible), SSN, Amrita, Karunya, Rajalakshmi, Saveetha, Sathyabhama, Hindustan, KCG, Panimalar, Velammal, Sri Krishna Coimbatore. Also register for TNEA, because Tamil Nadu counselling is through the official TNEA portal. Other options you can try are KL University, GITAM, PES/COMEDK colleges, Manipal Jaipur, and good Andhra/Telangana private colleges. Ans: Priya, chances in NIT Uttarakhand, IIITs and JoSAA GFTIs are almost nil. For Uttarakhand government engineering, try state counselling by Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, where B.Tech admission is JEE Main-based. Realistic branches may be civil, mechanical, electrical, production/industrial, or agriculture/biotech-type branches in later/spot rounds, not CSE/ECE. Have the following backup options: THDC-IHET Tehri, GBPIET Pauri, BTKIT Dwarahat, plus affordable private colleges through state counselling. Also keep UPES/Graphic Era/DIT only if budget permits.
