My son is getting Computer Engineering in Thapar, Mechanical in BITS Goa and Mechanical in PEC Chandigarh. Which is better option to choose.

Ans: Getting CSE in NITs is very difficult except possibly in CSAB special rounds at lower/newer institutes, but she has chances of getting core branches like Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or Production in some lower NITs, IIITs, and state government engineering colleges.

Ans: Your son should prioritize CSE/CSE specializations (AI, Data Science, Cyber Security) @ VIT Chennai if you are comfortable with high fees.

PES RR CSE/ AIML is better than MSRIT and BMS in most aspects? Which should I prefer between CSE core and CSE AIML keeping the future in mind

Ans: Yes, PES University RR CSE/CSE(AIML) is generally considered better than M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology and BMS College of Engineering. Prefer CSE Core if you want maximum long-term flexibility; AIML is also excellent and nearly equivalent today.

Sir, I am from uttarpradesh from ews category I have got 5.5 lk rank in general category in JEE Mains and 94368 rank in VITEEE which college should I choose VIT AP or any private colleges from uPTAC councelling for CSE

Ans: Chances are slim/dim. But CSE-related branches may still be possible at VIT-AP or VIT Bhopal in higher fee categories. Yet, be in touch with the admission/counselling process and also keep an alternative backup option ready.

Hello Sir, My son got 94.65 percentile in jee mains, (83,700 rank)he wants to pursue ECE branch, could you pls suggest which colleges he can get. Belongs to general catagory and Haryana domicile. Thanks

Ans: Your son has chances for ECE at newer NITs (through CSAB), at good IIITs with lower closing ranks, and at strong state colleges such as J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, and Chaudhary Devi Lal State Institute of Engineering and Technology. Private options like Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology and LNMIIT are also good for ECE if budget permits.

My daughter got 11570 in aeee exam, which branch is best to get in amrita university and also having jee mains percentile 90.20.

Ans: With AEEE rank 11,570, your daughter has a fair chance for CSE-related branches in Amrita, but Coimbatore core CSE is difficult because it is usually the most competitive. Best preference order: 1) CSE/AI at Amritapuri or Bengaluru, 2) CSE Cyber Security at Amritapuri, 3) AI/Data Science or CSE specialisations at Chennai, 4) ECE at Coimbatore/Bengaluru if she is open to software roles later. With a JEE Main 90.20 percentile, NIT/IIIT CSE is unlikely. If possible and if you wish, it is better to have 4-5 other backup options of reputed private engineering colleges/state counselling in and around your state. Ans: Sanklap Sir, At JEE Main 93.3 percentile, expected CRL may be around 95,000–1,05,000. With UP home state + General, top NIT/IIIT CSE is unlikely, but through JoSAA/CSAB he may target lower branches in NITs/GFTIs, and possibly ECE/IT-related branches in newer IIITs/GFTIs only in later/CSAB rounds. With BITSAT 202, BITS CSE/ECE/EEE/Mechanical is unlikely. Official BITS cutoffs show even 2024 Hyderabad Mechanical closed at 218, Civil 204, Chemical 207, while 2025 cutoffs rose sharply. So 202 BITS marks may be borderline only for B.Pharm or perhaps M.Sc. Biology/Chemistry if cutoffs soften, not BE core. It is advisable to have the following backup options: AKTU counselling: IET Lucknow, KNIT, BIET, JSS Noida, KIET, ABES, GL Bajaj, Jaypee Noida, plus Thapar, Manipal Jaipur, SRM/VIT (North India Campuses), and UPES for CSE/IT.
