My son ( General category) got 165 marks in Jee Advanced 2025 exam and 202 in IISER 2025 Exam.Will he get a seat in Tier 1 IIT's? Or B.S in Iisc? He also got 60+ ( two digits)rank in K CET..kindly advise Further what is the scope for B S?

Ans: Vinod Sir, With a JEE Advanced score of 165 marks (approximate/expected CRL rank 1,600–2,000)(today JEE-A Result has been declared), admission to Tier 1 IITs (Bombay/Delhi/Madras) for core branches like CSE/ECE is unlikely, as their 2024 closing ranks for General category ranged from 67 (CSE-IIT Bombay) to 550 (Mechanical-IIT Bombay). However, less competitive branches like Metallurgical Engineering at IIT Roorkee (2024 cutoff: ~4,000 CRL) or Civil Engineering at IIT Kanpur (~3,500 CRL) may be feasible. For IISc Bangalore’s B.Sc (Research), the 2024 JEE Advanced cutoff was CRL 903, making admission improbable, but his IISER score of 202/240 (expected rank

My son got 255 marks in JEE advanced.What could be expected rank? His mains AIR rank 268. Can he get Btech computer science in IITs or IISC?

Hello sir. My son scored 96.65 percentile in MH CET, 88.60 in JEE mains, and in the HSC exam he scored 78.90% can he get the reputed engineering college in Pune for computer science? My another question is what is the scope in India for Astro physics? He is much interested in this course

Ans: Yes he can get CSE, but not in COEP. For Astro Physics certainly there is scope in India. Does he know something about it or only obsessed with the name. Children are mainly obsessed about the exceptional branches like Astro Physics, Cyber Security and Genetic Engineering. These names attract them only. Ask him why he is interested in ASTRO PHYSICS. Hi sir got '2825' rank in SRM Phase 2 2025 .Can I get CSE core in KTR main campus Or I should go for CSE specialization with AI ML / DATA SCIENCE And what is cutoff in KTR main branch

Ans: For SRM KTR (main campus), CSE Core typically closes around 2,000 rank, and specializations around 6,000–8,000, so SRM AP is a more realistic option at your rank. You may also consider other SRM campuses like Ramapuram or NCR where cutoffs extend higher.

Sir , My son has got 2Lakh rank in JEE main and resident of Jharkhand , What is his probabity of getting any stream in BIT mesra in HS category

Ans: With a JEE Main rank of 200,000, it is highly unlikely to get admission into BIT-Mesra through the Home State (HS) quota. The cutoff ranks for BIT-Mesra, even for the HS category, generally fall below 106408, based on previous years' data.
