My daughter is getting IIIT Guwahati ECE and UIET ( Chandigarh) ECE , which one should we prefer ?

Ans: Reena Madam, IIIT Guwahati’s ECE program, though newer, benefits from its Institute of National Importance status and modern facilities, recording a 56.36% placement rate with an average package of ?13.59 LPA and top recruiters like Microsoft and Amazon. Its curriculum integrates signal processing, VLSI, and IoT with strong research support. UIET Chandigarh’s ECE, part of Panjab University, achieved a 58.8% placement rate and an average package of ?8.5 LPA in 2025, with core recruiters such as Qualcomm and Cisco, supported by established labs and seasoned faculty. UIET holds NAAC ‘A+’ accreditation, while IIIT Guwahati ranks in the 151–200 NIRF band for engineering, reflecting growing research output and inclusivity. Both institutes offer robust accreditation, experienced faculty, industry linkages, and placement cells, but UIET’s higher placement percentage in ECE and stronger alumni network contrast with IIIT Guwahati’s cutting-edge research emphasis and entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Recommendation: Opt for UIET Chandigarh’s ECE for its higher placement rate, seasoned faculty, and strong alumni network; choose IIIT Guwahati if prioritizing research exposure, innovative labs, and long-term entrepreneurial opportunities. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!
