Ans: Preference order may be: CSE @ Amrita > CSE AI @ VIT > ECE @ Mahindra > CSE @ Vardhman. The final choice and the preference order may differ for you depending on the circumstances.

Ans: Chances of getting into SVNIT Surat for Chemical Engineering seem slim in the normal JoSAA rounds; try state/private colleges or CSAB for lower-demand branches only. But if you are keenly interested in Chemical Engineering, then choose a decent private college and take admission via the management quota, if possible. Waiting till the last rounds or CSAB may create panic for you and your son.

Ans: He has chances for lower branches in older IITs (Civil/Chemical/Metallurgy) and good branches in newer IITs like IIT Bhilai, Goa, Jammu, Dharwad, Palakkad, or Tirupati. If not interested in core branches in IITs, he can easily get top branches in many NITs.

Ans: ECE @ PES University seems possible, but CSE/Core CSE is difficult; CSE specializations may be borderline in later rounds. It would be better to keep a strong backup option rather than wait until the last rounds.

Ans: With JEE Main CRL 1,97,989, JoSAA chances for NIT/IIIT CSE/ECE are very low. Rajasthan HS may give only lower branches in NIT Jaipur/other GFTIs if cutoffs stretch in CSAB. JoSAA confirms NIT/IIIT/GFTI admission is through official OR-CR data, and Open ranks use CRL. Your better option is VIT rank 21,045: target VIT Vellore/Chennai ECE, ECM, Electrical, Mechanical, IT/CSE-specialisation in higher category if available, and VIT-AP/Bhopal CSE/AI/CS specialisations as safer options. Have backup options of REAP Rajasthan, Manipal-Jaipur & 2-3 more in and around your State, instead of relying only on JoSAA/CSAB/VIT. All the Best for Your Prosperous Future!
