Regarding your rank, here are the centers with corresponding seat matrices:

- In VIT Vellore & Chennai: Possible to secure core branches (EEE/EIE/Mechanical) or less competitive branches in categories 4 or 5.
- In VIT AP & VIT Bhopal: Better chance of securing CSE or CSE specializations in categories 2/3.

Based on this information, you can choose the best option for yourself and try to achieve your goal.

Bit mesra cse, iiit raipur cse, nit jamshedpur cse. Can you please help us in deciding choice list and preferences order

Ans: The preference order may be: IGDTUW CSAI > NSUT ITNS > DTU Cybersecurity > NIT Delhi CSE > IIIT Delhi ECE > DTU ECE > IIIT Jabalpur CSE > NIT Jamshedpur CSE > BIT Mesra CSE > NIT Hamirpur CSE > IIIT Lucknow CSB > IIIT Gwalior IT+MBA > NIT Agartala CSE > IIIT Raipur CSE > IIIT Delhi CSB. It is very difficult to decide the preference order with so many alternatives. The final choice and preference order may be yours, given the circumstances.

Sir. My son got 98.69 percentile in jee mains and 20467 rank. He will be getting 137marks in his jee advanced exam..He more inclined for CSE, ECE, and Aerospace... please suggest which IIT Nit will possibly he will get..our home state is Maharashtra..We also thinking about IIST. Is it a good option for him. Please suggest.. Thank you

Ans: Based on the JEE Advanced score, his chances for Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical are mainly in older IITs, and for ECE/CSE, mainly in newer IITs. For NITs, good ECE/CSE options are possible in mid/top NITs with the home-state quota, and the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is excellent only if he is strongly interested in aerospace/space research.

My son's rank is 54,400 in Jee mains. He belongs to general category. His preference is in Material science followed by chemical and mechanical. Which NIT can he get? He has got admission in SNU ( Noida) in Mechanical branch Also want to know if any chances for COEP/ ICT?

Ans: He may get Material Science/Chemical/Mechanical in lower-mid NITs like Jalandhar / Agartala / Raipur / Srinagar. Chances with COEP/ICT are low/slim.

Ans: Your son has chances in lower/core branches in newer tier-2/3 IITs like Bhilai / Jammu / Dharwad / Palakkad / Tirupati, mainly in later rounds. Better to keep an alternative option ready.

Sir mere bete ka 51000 rank hai vit eee me use koun si category me cse ya specialization aur koun se campus me milega

Ans: Arjit Sir, 51,000 rank par VIT Chennai mein CSE Category 5 (Rs 3.3L/year) mil sakta hai (Category 5 cutoff 34,000, thoda risk hai), CSE Specializations (AI/ML, Data Science) bhi Chennai mein Category 5 tak 42,000 hain. VIT Bhopal/AP mein CSE Category 3–4 tak aasani se milega (CSE cutoff 90,000–95,000). VIT Vellore mein 51,000 rank par CSE nahi milega (category 5 cutoff 25,500). Chennai mein CSE Category 5 safe nahi, Bhopal/AP Category 3–4 sabse behtareen option hai. Apne rajya mein aur aas-paas ke prasiddh private colleges ke 3-4 backup rakho, sirf VIT par nirbhar mat raho, Arjit Sir. Sabse acchi shubhkamanaon ki apni beti ke samruddh bhavishya ke liye!

Hello sir, I am a female candidate of general category. I got a 95.5 percentile in jee main and 3K rank in vit which got me cse core in vit vellore in category 2. I am getting around 108 marks in jee advanced 2026. Could you please help me explore better options in iits . And also should I choose vit cse or lower branches in iits .

Ans: Based on your JEE score, you have a chance of getting into lower branches at lower/newly formed NITs/IIITs. It is recommended to prefer CSE @ VIT Vellore over lower NITs/IIITs. The final decision will be yours.

Ans: VIT - Vellore may be difficult, but you can hope for AP/Chennai/Bhopal. But it is better to keep other option ready as a backup.

Ans: Deepak Sir, At VITEEE 13,000, she should prioritise VIT Vellore/Chennai CSE-specialisations, IT, ECE, likely Category 2–3; core CSE Vellore Category 1 is difficult. VIT counselling Phase-1 covers ranks up to 20,000.

At JEE Main CRL 46,783, general female, top NIT CSE is unlikely, but try NITs: ECE/EEE/Mechanical/Civil/Production in mid/lower NITs; IIITs/GFTIs: CSE/IT/ECE chances may improve in later rounds/CSAB. JoSAA covers NITs, IIITs and GFTIs through one platform.

The best choices are VIT Vellore/Chennai CSE/IT/ECE over lower NIT non-preferred branches. Backups she can have are CSAB, state counselling & 2-3 more reputed private colleges. All the Best for Your Daughter's Prosperous Future!
