After 10th boards i have taken a 6 months gap for joining kota iit jee coaching there i got depressed and felt anxious so after 8 months i get back to home then i again joined school class 11 pcm to peruse my education and again targeted jee then also i got failed in 11th and haven't attempt any jee mocks now I again enrolled in jee coaching in class 12th so I'm now in chaotic situation how to manage them together and also stuck with 12th syllabus

Ans: Attempting something without a systematic plan and with the mindset like yours gets to a tough situation.
Never mind about what has gone by.
For you it will be better to just focus on XII standard. You will pass that with good marks and there are quite good chances that you will perform better in JEE.
I would never recommend to leave JEE, because there's fire in you to do it, certainly do it but with proper planning.
Study all your Textbooks properly in depth and solve all the book back problems effortlessly.
Learn the skills while enjoying it.
I don't see any failure then.

I am jee aspirant and couldn't clear it . I was sure that in 2nd attempt i will do it for sure but when I saw the results they broke my courage. I convinced my self its ok u have many other options but after seeing my cbse 12th results its hard that there is any option left for me. I thought for bits pilani but I am not getting aggregate above than 75% . Now , I have no courage to start again . I am depressed what should I should do. There isn't any single day that I am not scolded for my marks and mistakes . Even now my parents aren't that much supportive like they were . It feels like just because u can't clear ur entrance exam , ur everything is judged. My parents are saying of taking drop but its hard for to take a drop. I don't know what should I do. Every day its getting hard to live thinking that again someone will come and make me count my mistakes.
Ans: Dear Yashasvi,
You win some, you lose some...that is LIFE...

Instead of feeling down and out, pick yourself up and figure out what you want to do next...what are the other options that you are yet to consider. feeling sorry for yourself is not going to push you to make a future.
You can't change what's happened but you can certainly choose how you want things to move ahead...
So shake this low feeling and feeling sorry for yourself off and seek the advice of a senior who you look up to or someone in your family who can guide you on the next steps.
It helps involving someone to help you at this time as you are deep into it already. This person can play the role of giving you independent advice and suggestions without judging you.

1. Seek someone who is a role model to guide you
2. Look ahead instead of harping on what has happened
3. Use failure as a form of feedback from where you can learn
4. Spend at least a month away from academics to rework strategies on how to study effectively
5. Smile through challenges as they only help you grow

And if you still feel that your parents are being supportive, do let them know that you need more of their love and care.

All the best!

I completed my 12th grade in 2022. They say that if the foundation of a house is weak, the chances of the whole house collapsing are very high. Similarly, my situation was affected by the Corona period. My 11th and 12th-grade basics were completely messed up, and I needed to fix them but couldn't. Due to some wrong decisions, I took a drop in my first year to prepare for JEE on my own, but the results were not good, and I failed. Actually, I couldn’t get much output from myself. During that critical time, I sought advice from people around me. Some suggested joining a local college like MBM Jodhpur for Petroleum Engineering or JIET College, while others advised me to take a second drop and prepare for JEE with coaching since I had already studied a bit. So, I took a second drop and also filled out a form for a BA in History, Political Science, and Public Administration, intending to study for the exams just two days before BA Exam to pass and also to minimize risks as I had taken 2nd drop. Despite taking a second drop, I still didn’t perform well enough to get into any NIT or IIIT (and being from the general category added to the difficulty). My Maths was very weak. Then I attempted other entrance exams like COMEDK and JIPMAT, which is a management entrance exam. I’ve become crazy with all this. My interest in engineering completely faded, and I wanted to build a career in management. I wanted to study outside Jodhpur, so I searched for different entrances, but there wasn’t enough time for their preparation, so I couldn’t apply. In COMEDK, I ranked 49k, and my JIPMAT result is not going to be good. Please help me at this crucial moment. I’ve become CONFUSED AND EXHAUSTED because even after so much struggle day and night, I haven’t achieved anything. Now I’m unable to decide what to do next. According to my current situation, I have a few options: 1st :- Take admission in any branch at MBM Jodhpur through REAP. 2nd :- Take admission in Doon Business School for BBA Management Studies. 3rd :-Prepare for the SSC Stenographer exam, which is coming up in a few months. 4th :- Prepare for the RAS exam as per my father’s suggestion. 5th :- Go to Bangalore through COMEDK to any college I get, but I am not sure if it will be worth it. Please PLEASE PLEASE help me, guide me properly. ???????? If I consider doing my Masters abroad, there’s no financial security from my family to guarantee that.
Ans: Hi Bhavesh. It would be better to talk to a counselor one to one across the table. You have asked many questions and some of them are related and some are irrelevant. Only with personal talks, one can understand your real problem(s).

Can you please suggest on capital gains as per Indian taxation laws arising in the below two queries : 1) property purchased with joint ownership, me and my wife’s name in 2015 at a cost of 64,80,000, housing improvements done for the cost of 1000000 and brokerages of 200000 paid and sold the same property at 10000000 in Dec 2023? 2) 87% of the proceeds got from the deal i.e 8700000, have been reinvested to pay 25% amount in purchasing another joint ownership property in Dec 2023, 3) I have invested in another under construction property in Nov 2023 by taking housing loan, which is on me and my wife’s name worth 1.4 cr, here the primary applicant is me only while wife is just made a Co applicant in the builder buyer agreement and also on the housing loan . So what are the LTCG tax liabilities arising from the above 3 scenarios for FY 2023-2024 and FY 2024-2025. I intend to sale off the property acquired in (2) by Dec 2024 and use that proceeds to close the housing loan for the property acquired in (3), will this sale of property be inviting any tax liabilities if the complete proceeds received from the sale of the property in (2) would be utilised to close the housing loan taken in Nov 2023 for the property in (3) ? Since in FY 23-24, I would be claiming the LTCG from the sale proceeds of 1) invested in the purchase of property in 2), and I intend to sale off this property in Dec 2024, will the LTCG claim be forfeited on the property sale in (1), should I hold this property at least for further 1 year so that sale of this property in 2) will not invite STCG?
Ans: (A). Let's first talk about F/Y 2023-24 :
You jointly sold a Property during the year for Rs.76.80 lakhs (64.80+10.00+2.00), & sold the same for Rs.100.00 lakhs.
You have jointly also purchased Property No.3 (I suppose it is Residential only), for Rs.140.00 lakhs.
You should avail exemption u/s-54 & file your ITR accordingly. Please disclose all details about sale & purchase in your ITR.
02. Now coming to the F/Y 2024-25 :
You intend to Sell Property No.2, which was acquired in 2023-24. Any Gain on Sale of it would be Short Term capital Gains & taxed accordingly.
Alternatively, you may hold this sale of property no.2 (for 2 years from its purchase) & avoid STCG
You are free to utilize the sale proceeds in a way you like, including paying off your housing Loan.
Please note to avail exemption u/s 54 only from investment in property no.3 & not 2.
Most welcome for any further clarifications. Thanks.
