Hi Sir, I'm 24. I have an MSc from IIT Madras and I'm working in IT as a tester in a very stable company. I earn 12 lpa currently and also have excellent Work life balance. I am happy working here because the job is not very demanding and also I get to work remotely from home. However I have an offer from IIM Shillong for its PGP program. MBA from an IIM has always been a dream ( I gave CAT in '22 and got 98.5 percentile, last year I got 99.5 percentile) but I'm not sure if leaving my job in this case would be the right decision. I am sure of not giving CAT again at risk of getting burnt out.

If you have active then you don't need any cashflows from mutual funds, but if you don't have any active income then the thumb rule for SWP can be 4-6% of the corpus. If you maintain this with a balanced portfolio, your portfolio will give you good results over a period of 10-15-20yrs

Never go for dividend options , if you need monthly cashflow from mutual funds then please go with the option of SWP - Systematic Withdrawal Plan under growth option as its better in terms of taxation

Risk in equity markets is the volatility that you see in the short term, due to the longer duration of your investment that risk gets mitigated
The funds that you can select are as follows :
Small cap 30%
Mid cap 30
Multi cap 20%
Large and mid cap 10%
Thematic funds 10% ( can be changed as per requirement )

Generally the investment amount should be 30% of your gross salary to get to your goals faster , so if you can do a higher investment per month, you should aim for that

1. have clear goals with respect to your job
2. you have listed so may reasons for not taking up a job, now find a few reasons to take a job - your self respect, your own money to spend are some I can think of
3. it's very easy to quit a job, find reasons to stay
4. invest in your physical and mental well being, a clam and collected mind will take better decisions
5. I really won't say slow growth in an organisation, if I had finished engineering in 2021 and it is middle of 2024 now
6. preparing for Govt Jobs is a good idea, look into doing this thing well if you are really serious about it
7. give your 100% in everything you do Syed!! Let there be energy, enthusiasm and excitement in your search for a job, it's your life, take charge of it and see how you want it to unfold. Do all that which is in your control
8.you get fed up when you don't see progress and not celebrate your wins however small they may be! Every step you take towards your goal, pat yourself on the back, be your greatest cheer leader
9.do not compare yourself with others, compare only if you feel inspired
10. focus on your well being and happiness
11. take up a job and do well there, it is better to do a job than to sit idle or
12. look to upskill in an area you want to work, look for job oriented courses
13. seek help if need be
