Hello Sir/Ma'am, I need some guidance regarding my EWS certificate and GATE 2027/M.Tech admission.
My situation is a little unusual, so I wanted to explain it clearly.
My family is originally from Bihar. We still have our family/home there, and my mother's address and documents are from Bihar. I also have a valid Bihar EWS Income & Asset Certificate.
However, I was born in Kolkata because my parents moved to Kolkata, and I have lived in Kolkata throughout my life. My schooling and graduation were also completed in Kolkata. My current/permanent residential address is Kolkata, West Bengal.
I am now applying for GATE 2027 from Kolkata and intend to use my GATE score for M.Tech admission in IITs/NITs through the relevant counselling process.
My family circumstances are also a little complicated:
My father is deceased.
My grandfather is deceased.
My mother lives with me in Kolkata, but her official address/documents are from Bihar.
I do not own any agricultural land/property.
My mother does not own any agricultural land/property.
Actually, I lived with my paternal uncle.
My main concern is regarding the Bihar EWS certificate vs. my Kolkata permanent address.
Since my EWS certificate is issued by Bihar, but I was born and educated in Kolkata, my current/permanent address is Kolkata, and I will be applying for GATE from Kolkata, could this create any issue during M.Tech admission/counselling document verification?
Specifically, I would like to know:
Can I use my Bihar EWS certificate for Central EWS reservation in GATE-based M.Tech admissions?
Is there any requirement that the address/state mentioned in my EWS certificate must match my current/permanent address in the GATE application?
Could the fact that my GATE application shows Kolkata, West Bengal, while my EWS certificate is from Bihar, cause a problem during CCMT/IIT/NIT document verification?
Since my family genuinely belongs to Bihar, we have a home there, and my mother's official address is Bihar, does this establish my connection/residence with Bihar for the purpose of the EWS certificate?
Do I need any additional document or affidavit explaining that my family is originally from Bihar but my parents moved to Kolkata, where I was born, raised, and educated?
I want to make sure everything is correct before GATE 2027 counselling/admission, because I don't want any problem during document verification later.

I got 958 ranking in KCET, am from GM category, in 2nd round KCET counseling, got a seat in E&C branch (Govn.aided) at BMSCE. However looking for upgradion in 3rd round to get an seat in RVCE for same E&C branch. But also want to know, while choosing options, should i chose PES RR Campus as well for E&C? I am neet 2027 aspirant ...But I have 2 marksheets
Primary Board: I passed my Class 12 (PCB stream) from the CBSE Board in the year 2025 overall pass. However, I received a Repeat Theory (RT) / Essential Repeat in Physics only
Remedial Board: To clear my RT, I registered with the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) for Physics as a single subject only.
I successfully passed both the theory and practical components of Physics via NIOS in the year 2026
Because I cleared my backlog the following year, I now hold a 2025 CBSE Marksheet (showing passes in Chemistry, Biology, and English) and a 2026 NIOS Marksheet (showing a pass in Physics).
could you please clarify first the following:
Am I fully eligible to register and sit for the NEET UG exam with this dual-marksheet combination from two different session years (2025 and 2026)?
Will this difference in session years in different board marksheets cause any disqualification during the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) or state-level physical document verification?
Because ALLEN AND PW AND ALL ARE SAYING THAT THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BY NTA MCC ND COUNSELING PROCESS, allen is saying i should appear again in nios to sit for pcbe again so the i can get a single marksheet of single session year...and pw is saying that clearing a physics rt through nios is not permissible in neet counselling nd addmision process.....so am confused what to do now

Sir, my son got a chance at JGEC in the CSE department. My question is: in the decentralized counselling, should I opt for KGEC in the same branch if my son gets the opportunity?
I have heard that KGEC has very poor infrastructure across all departments compared to JGEC. I live in Kolkata, which is the main reason I am considering KGEC. However, if the infrastructure is significantly worse, I would prefer to keep him at JGEC.

My younger brother has scored 58 percent pcb aggregate in this yr class 12th from cbse, he is taking his 1st drop for neet nd going to go for neet 2027. Recently we got to know that for aiims we need 60 percent nd for other gmc we need only 50 percent, can my brother give cbse improvement exam as a private candidate next yr with 2027 freshers in all 5 subjects?? I gave CBSE 12th bords exams in 2024 with 6 subjects and my result was pass but i had RT in Chemistry because i only got 32/100 and I am NEET aspirant so i needed 50% aggregate in PCB btw i got 50 in Biology and 51 in Physics so i gave cbse improvement didn't clear it again so i opted NIOS in 2026 in ON DEMAND in single subject and Got 72 in chemistry not i have 2 marksheets is it acceptable? My total PCB aggregate is 57% now....

Since it is a government college, as an undergraduate, don’t focus too much on the reviews. Let your son complete the course. While doing his internship (house surgeon), he should focus on learning skills. When he pursues his PG, he can select better colleges.

Sir my son has applied for dasa in nri quota. He finished his grade 11 and 12 in US. We have decided to come back to India after admission is done. So father status will become Resident Indian after 181 days. Will my son be eligible to continue his program if he gets admission in NIT.

Sir my nephew rank for MHCET is 18K, what are chances of getting good collage in mumbai/pune, he is not from maharashtra and this rank is AI MERIT list rank.
He is also selected with upgrad, but since it is new, not sure whether to join or not
