Ans: Managing diabetes alongside chronic kidney disease (CKD Stage 3b) requires a carefully balanced diet that supports both blood sugar control and kidney function while ensuring adequate nutrition. Include low-potassium vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, bell peppers, Avoid high-potassium foods like bananas, potatoes, oranges, and spinach. Have a controlled protein intake by including lean options like egg whites, tofu, and plant-based proteins are better. Eggs are fine, but opt for egg whites more often, as the yolk contains phosphorus. Use complex carbohydrates from millet, barley, oats. Include healthy fats like olive oil, walnuts, flaxseeds, and almonds (in small amounts to control potassium). Staying hydrated helps flush out waste but should be monitored based on kidney function—consult the doctor regarding fluid restrictions. Reduce salt intake to protect kidney health.
