My Daughter age 19year was feeling tiredness from last 2-3 weeks. Usually She has fatigue also and unable to wake up in the morning. So I taken advice from a physician. Who advice us for some Blood test including Thyroid. In test report FT3 is 20.47, FT4 is 10.30 and TSH is 0.01. Is it abnormal. My doctor has mention some prescription and advice for taking medicine some long time. Is there any side effect of taking of drugs related to thyroid.

Ans: According to the reports her Thyroid glands are overactive. The reason could be many. Considering her age bracket it is, more towards Autoimmune Reason.
Did she get Covid infection during the outbreak? Did she get her vaccines?
If yes which one did she take?

Ans: I don't think it is wise to take treatment for hyperthyroidism unsupervised. You need to meet an Endocrinologist or an Internist. Depending on her symptoms and physical examination , your daughter might need to undergo a Radio nuclide thyroid scan . A condition called thyroiditis can produce similar lab results, (the scan will help confirm or rule out this condition). The role of diet is limited but it it might be advisable to avoid iodine rich food.

Dear Doctor, For my wife, I got the Thyroid Function Test for her and the report as on 15-12-2023 says - Triiodothyronine (T3) 1.05 ng/mL Thyroxine (T4) 10.60 μg/dL Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) 4.26 mlU/L Earlier report (approx. 6 months back) dated 29-06-2023 was as under – Triiodothyronine (T3) 0.98 ng/mL Thyroxine (T4) 6.90 μg/dL Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) 8.36 mlU/L It means TSH has reduced from 8.36 to 4.26 which is in normal range of 0.46-4.68. For Thyroid, she was taking Thyrox-25 Tablet on daily basis in the morning. Whether she should stop taking Thyrox-25 now as now it is in normal range? Kindly advise.

Ans: Please check the source of Iodine in your diet.Also with the start of treatment ,you need to have the values coming down and not going up.Hold back the Thyroxine ,repeat the tests after three months.

Dr.Garu , My name is k.sundaraiah age: 50 years recently thyroid test in lab test result Tsh rapid test :5.60 T3 rapid test :110.05 T4 rapid test :12.95 after consulting doctor thyronoram 50 mcg tablets medicines daily morning used. Doubt: Thyroid tablets medicines life long used compulsory and every six months thyroid test compulsory.

Ans: Thyroxine definitely need to be supplemented. But your state of thyroid dysfunction may not be life long

I am meber of EPFO, DEC 1995 TO MARCH 1999 , THEN BREAK & AGAIN JOIN TO EPFO FROM 8 FEB 2006 TILL TODAY, & I HAVE GOT UAN NUMBER FROM FEB 2006 BUT FROM DEC 95 TO MARCH 1999 , THERE WAS NO PROVISON FOR UAN NUMBER, THEN HOW CAN MY LAST SERVICE ADD WITH PRESNT UAN NUMBER

Ans: You may have physical PF slips, documents from your employer which provide details of your EPF account during 1995 to 1999. If you have these records then you can visit EPFO and furnish application to link(merge) this account with your current UAN. They may need a letter from your employer during that phase, attesting the facts about your EPF account.

Ans: Yes EPS pension is calculated based on average basic salary of previous 60 months and pensionable service period.

Based on a predetermined formula involving these two factors EPS pension is determined.

I had been working since 1984 to 2019.but there was no EPF facility till I worked 1990. From 1991 to 2001, EPF was there but no details are available with me..Company is also closed...How I will get epf benefit from this company.From the service of 2001 to 2019, now co. is asking pf slips from the emplyees. Theh have the details frm 2009 to 2019.. Please advise how i wll get all these documents Now iam retired too

Sir, I had lost my Job during Covid Pandemic in the year 2020 and I had recently got all of my EPFO credited in my account for the last 10 years 6 months.. The EPF was being maintained by the Company's trust. I had asked the respective manager about my EPS(Pension) then he said that they only maintained the EPF amount and the EPS is maintained by the EPFO. Sir Can you tell me how can I access my EPS fund? Do I need any documents or prerequisites from the Company I last worked with or the company which maintained my EPF? Please provide me all the relevant information about my EPS amount and how can I withdraw it.

Ans: Since you worked for more then 10 years EPFO may not allow you to withdraw EPS. Depending on your age 50/58 you may be eligible to receive pension through EPS. Get the scheme certificate from your employer regarding EPS contributions. Have an active UAN linked to your Aadhar & Bank account so that you file claim for receiving EPS pension thru your assigned EPF office.
