My son scored 60 marks in met. Can he get ece in manipal main brach or in Bangalore with this score. He even scored 87% in his boards. So is it possible?? And if not any other option?

Ans: With 60 marks in MET and 87% in boards, your son is not eligible for ECE at the Manipal main campus (MIT Manipal), as the cutoff ranks for ECE are much higher (within 8,900). At MIT Bangalore, the ECE cutoff last year was up to 26,764, so admission is unlikely but not impossible, especially if cutoffs shift or in spot rounds. For a safer option, consider ECE at Manipal Jaipur or Sikkim Manipal campuses, where cutoffs go up to 35,000. Alternatively, explore other branches at MIT Bangalore or other private universities with similar or lower cutoffs. Recommendation: Focus on ECE at Manipal Jaipur or Sikkim Manipal, and keep an eye on spot rounds at MIT Bangalore. Also, consider other private engineering colleges where your son's scores are competitive. All the best for your admission and a bright future!

My son scored 119/240 in MET and scored 90%in boards , will he get ECE in Main Manipal or Bangalore Maniapl
Ans: With a MET score of 119/240 and 90% in boards, your son’s estimated MET rank is around 5,000 to 6,000, placing him well within the typical cutoff range for Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Manipal main campus and also making admission at the Manipal Bangalore campus highly probable. Historically, ECE cutoffs at MIT Manipal have closed between ranks 3,900 and 8,900, and your son’s rank fits comfortably in this bracket. His strong board percentage further boosts his composite rank, enhancing admission chances. While ECE is a competitive branch, your son’s profile aligns well with the expected cutoff trends. It is advisable to participate actively in MET counseling, prioritize ECE at Manipal Manipal and Bangalore campuses, and keep backup preferences ready. If ECE at Manipal is not available, related branches like Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering at these campuses may be considered. Overall, your son’s score and board marks position him strongly for ECE admission at Manipal’s top campuses. Recommendation: Confidently opt for ECE at MIT Manipal main campus or Bangalore campus during counseling for the best academic and placement prospects. All the best for your son's admission and a bright future!
