Hii. I got a chemical engineering seat at mit, manipal. I wanted to know whether it is a good branch and does it offer good job opportunities for a female candidate?

Ans: Hello, it’s good that you’re thinking carefully before deciding. MIT Manipal is a reputed college. The campus, faculty, and overall exposure are good. So from the college side, you're in safe hands.
Chemical Engineering is a core engineering branch, and not everyone chooses it, so competition is also a bit less compared to CSE or ECE. The subject involves a mix of chemistry, physics, math, and real-world problem solving.
This is a perfectly good branch for girls too. In fact, many girls are doing very well in this field. But you should know this:
Some jobs in plants or factories may be physically demanding or in remote locations. But that doesn’t mean they’re not safe – many companies have good facilities.
There are also many roles in labs, design, research, quality control, and even corporate jobs, which are comfortable and office-based.
Also, after a few years, many students do MBA, MS, or switch into data science, analytics, or project management. This opens even more doors.
