Hello, My son is studying under the Pearson IGCSE system in in grade 11. He is very keen on appearing for IIT entrance after completing his A levels. I would like to know ,what dies he need to do to ensure he successfully prepares and appear for the JEE mains and advanced exams

Ans: Kumar Sir, For your son studying under Pearson IGCSE and planning to appear for IIT entrance after A levels, he must ensure he has Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the A level, as these are mandatory for JEE Main eligibility. He should achieve at least 75% aggregate in A levels or be in the top 20 percentile of his board to qualify for IIT admissions. Preparation should focus on mastering the JEE Main and Advanced syllabi, which closely follow Indian Class 11 and 12 CBSE content, so bridging any syllabus gaps is crucial. He should use NCERT textbooks, standard JEE reference books, and practice extensively with past papers and mock tests to build speed and conceptual depth, especially for JEE Advanced, which demands higher-order problem-solving skills. Regular revision, time management, and a structured study plan are essential, along with maintaining physical and mental well-being. He must register for JEE Main (held twice yearly), qualify among the top 2,50,000 to be eligible for JEE Advanced, and then clear the Advanced exam for IIT admission.

Recommendation: Ensure your son takes A levels in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, bridges any syllabus gaps with NCERT and JEE materials, practices extensively with mock tests and previous papers, and maintains a disciplined, well-balanced preparation routine to maximize his chances in JEE Main and Advanced exams. PRO TIP: It is highly recommended to enroll in a reputed coaching center offering weekend or weekday classes.
