Hello Madam/Sir, My son got chance for admission in CSE in both SRM Ktr and Gitam deem to be Univesity Bangalore. Which one will be better option.

Ans: Hello dear. Here, your interests and financial considerations matter more. Thapar is more expensive compared to a tier 3 college. Without interest, choosing Thapar at this stage is not recommended. Hope you understand the point. The final choice will be yours.

Since the college is just a short walk from your home, it’s better to talk with current students and the placement division for your peace of mind. Professional education and future career prospects depend on the college’s reputation and campus facilities. If you are satisfied with these factors, then go ahead. Otherwise, since the college is only a 5-minute walk, there’s no need to stay in a hostel etc, parameters should be reconsidered.

Ans: It is highly unlikely to secure a CSE seat at any GFTI through JoSAA or CSAB special rounds with a General?Open CRL of 150 794, since opening and closing CRLs for CSE at Government?Funded Technical Institutions have in recent years ranged between approximately 10 000 and 55 000 for the earliest and mid-tier institutes, with even lower-demand GFTIs closing by about 80 000 in final rounds. As a Kolkata resident, All-India seats in institutes like Central University of Rajasthan, IIT Roorkee’s off-campus centers, or PTU Puducherry similarly closed well above 50 000, leaving NO viable CSE option at 150 000+.

Recommendation: Consider any high-quality private engineering college in Kolkata or neighbouring States or Metro Cities or explore B.Sc Computer Science and lateral-entry diploma-to-degree routes as solid backup pathways. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!
