This is my first time appearing for GATE, and I’m already feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the preparation. Now that the admit card release is approaching, I’m worried about missing any important details. Could you please explain the step-by-step process to download the admit card and what documents I should carry on the exam day?

Ans: Hello dear.
What is a surprise that you are appearing in the GATE examination 1st time? Everybody goes through this situation. You are on the turn of completing your B.E./B.Tech. and at this point, the anxiety developed not showing good symptoms. Be cool and relax. Since 3-4 years you are well acquainted with the engineering examination pattern. The difference between regular and GATE is that, for GATE, you have to prepare F.E. to B.E. syllabus and that is the only issue. A candidate who remained sincere from 1st year will not have any type of anxiety with GATE. Try to cover the syllabus in depth as early as possible. Now, related to your admit card, visit the GATE website where you will receive an announcement via SMS/email to download the admit card. Follow the steps mentioned in the email and download it. On the respective website, everything is mentioned clearly about the documents to be carried on the examination day. Keep a close eye on the GATE examination. Best of luck for your upcoming examinations in the future.

Ans: Kartik, I don't know why you want to clear GATE which is for M Tech in your subject and Masters in Chemistry may have very limited job options unless you want to do PhD and become a teacher. A management degree may be better and clearing CAT/MAT may be less arduous than GAT.Hope this answers your question.

You are pursuing ETC. The purposes of GATE and UPSE exams are different. There are no similarities between the GATE and UPSE examinations. GATE is for pursuing PG in engineering and UPSE is conducted for civil services.

Ans: Cut-off trends keep varying from year to year. It can't be a constant. If the questions become relatively easy then the cut off mark will go high and if the questions become relatively hard then the cut off marks come down. But no worries. Ans: Based on the data mentioned above, your Tax liability shall be less in Old Tax Regime (about Rs.25,000.00 without Interest etc.) as compared to new tax regime. You should file your ITR accordingly.

I've completed my graduation (B.Sc) from Delhi University, however I've come to realise that my interest lies someplace else, I hold a passion and wish to persue masters in Psychology and be a clinical psychologist down the line, what should be my next steps? Ans: 01. You should have filed your ITR for F/Y 2021-22, without declaring Rs.14.00 lakhs (received as advance), as Income for the year. Please ensure, that you don't claim TDS (if any deducted on this amount). Declare your total Income in F/Y 2022-23 ITR, working out Capital Gains clearly.

Hi, currently in Bangalore with a rental income of 75k and a salary of 25k. Living myself in a rented house of 15k, all expenses combined take away my total income. Have a loan of 10 lakh, on the rental income house and 5 lakh of loan from relatives. which I am finding it difficult to pay off. Hence, I am thinking of shifting to Mysore after selling the rental income house clear the loans and buy a rental income property in Mysore. Is it worth, please advise..

Ans: Your thinking needs re-consideration, due to following factors :
01. You have a monthly income of Rs.1,00,000.00. You should first pay your loan taken from the relatives, may be in installments, over a period of 1-2 years. Then, besides paying EMI on Bank Loan of Rs.10.00 lakhs, you should pay some extra amount to clear your loan as early as possible. You would be quite comfortable after payment of your loans.
02. You already have a rental income property, it won't be advisable to sell it & then find a rental income property in another city.
