Hi, My son has got 13500 rank in JEE Mains and 10500 in JEE Advance Gen Category Male Delhi Home State. He Has option of getting CS and ECE in DTU and IIIT Delhi where as lower branches like Materials Engineering in IIT Indore, Gandhinagar and Electrical Engineering In IIT Goa, IIT Mandi.
What to select pls advice. Is the options for CS declining
Ans: The preference order can be IIIT-Delhi CSE > DTU CSE > IIIT-Delhi ECE > DTU ECE > IIT Mandi EE > IIT Goa EE > IIT Indore/Gandhinagar Materials.
It’s better to choose CS or ECE in Delhi over some of the newer IIT branches because IIIT-Delhi’s 2026 B.Tech average package is around Rs. 19.87 LPA, and DTU’s COE/ECE averages for 2023-24 were Rs. 17.21 and Rs. 16.61 LPA, respectively. Newer IIT branches outside CS or core streams can be riskier.
