My son wants to study B.Tech. in ECE. He has got 97.2 percentile 43112 rank in JEE Mains 2026. He also qualify SRMJEEE and eligible for ECE in Data Science in KTR Campus. What should I do now ? Shall I get him admitted to SRM KTR Campus ? Is there any chances for IIIT or NIT in ECE ? What will be better for him with his rank ? Choose Govt. College or SRM ?
Ans: Sayantika Madam, At CRL 43,112, top NIT/IIIT ECE is unlikely in JoSAA for General/Open, but he may get ECE/related branches in lower NITs/IIITs/GFTIs through CSAB, depending on home-state/category vacancies. Do not leave SRM KTR ECE-Data Science seat immediately. Book SRM KTR as safety, participate fully in JoSAA + CSAB, and shift only if he gets a decent NIT/IIIT/GFTI ECE/Electronics/Communication/AIoT option. SRM KTR is a stronger private backup than risking no good seat. Have 3-4 other reputed private colleges as backups. All the Best for Your Son's Prosperous Future!
