Sir
Please advice which Program amongst IIIT DELHI -ELECTRONICS & VLSI vs BITS PILANI MS Semiconductor & Nanoscience is better.
And also Please advice if 5year dual degree at BITS Pilani in Semiconductor Nanoscience should be FREEZED or KEPT OPEN to slide up in expectation of MS -Economics/ Electrical/Electronics n Electrical/ECE/Mn C/CS at BITS Pilani in further rounds.
Thanks in advance
Ans: Avnish, Here is a simplified and concise version of the paragraph, reduced by about 30% while covering all points clearly and using "Rs." instead of the symbol:The order of preference and advice is to keep the Slide Up option at BITS Pilani open and not freeze it, so you can aim for higher-preference degrees like CS, MnC, ECE, or Economics based on your first-year CGPA. IIIT Delhi’s Electronics & VLSI (EVE) is the best standalone 4-year B.Tech program, offering a direct engineering degree, excellent tech placements with an average package over Rs. 18 LPA, and early coding experience. BITS Pilani’s M.Sc. Semiconductor & Nanoscience is a new 5-year dual program that is very specialized and requires a large time and financial commitment (around Rs. 29-37 lakhs). If you don’t get a top B.E. branch like CS or ECE through the dual-degree system, your career options become limited mainly to niche research in materials science. Between the two, IIIT Delhi’s ECE and VLSI programs have a stronger coding culture, better placements, and flexibility to move into software roles. BITS Pilani’s brand is strong, but the M.Sc. Nanoscience program is niche and research-focused. Keep your dual degree option open at first and decide only after you have full clarity later. I always emphasize to parents and students the importance of prioritizing a branch that genuinely interests the student over the college itself. It is essential to first identify the branch you are passionate about, comfortable with, and confident in pursuing. And, it is advisable to avoid accepting a branch that does not align with your interests solely because it is offered at a reputed college, as this may lead to regret and decreased motivation later on. All the Best for Your Prosperous Future!
