Career
In KCET by son has got ECE in RVCE and may also get cyber security or CA CS in upcoming rounds. And may also get Mechanical in NITK(Surathkal) in CSAB. Please suggest me what is better option.
Ans: Nandini Madam, Your son faces an excellent choice between three prestigious options representing different engineering paths and career trajectories. RVCE ECE demonstrates exceptional placement consistency with 84% placement rates in 2025, averaging around ?20 LPA for ECE, backed by recruiters like Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, SanDisk, and established industry connections in Bangalore's tech ecosystem. The autonomous status, NAAC A+ accreditation, NIRF ranking of 99, and 62-year legacy provide strong foundation with modern infrastructure, experienced faculty, robust alumni networks, comprehensive campus facilities, and vibrant student life. RVCE's potential Cyber Security and Computer Applications programs offer emerging specializations with growing industry demand, though specific placement data remains limited for these newer branches. NITK Surathkal Mechanical Engineering, ranked 12th in NIRF Engineering category and 38th overall, represents India's premier government engineering education with 93% BTech placement rates in 2025, ?12.57 LPA average for Mechanical, and access to elite recruiters including Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, and major core sector companies. The institute's Institute of National Importance status, comprehensive research facilities, extensive alumni networks spanning six decades, coastal campus with excellent infrastructure, and prestigious brand value ensure long-term career advantages across diverse sectors including automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, consulting, and technology.

Recommendation: Choose NITK Surathkal Mechanical for its unparalleled national reputation, prestigious alumni network, and diverse career opportunities across core and software sectors, followed by RVCE ECE for strong industry connections and Bangalore's tech advantage. RVCE Cyber Security could be considered if your son has specific interest in cybersecurity domains and emerging technologies. My Suggestion: Prefer NIT-S-M over RVCE Options. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!
