Sir I got 98.67 in JEE MAINS( 20k rank general category and 5100 rank in obc-ncl) and 2127 rank in KCET but i am getting onky 30 marks in advance so i am thinking of taking a drop this year for jee advance, what are your suggetions??
Ans: Bhuvan, I suggest you, prefer getting admission through KCET with your Rank of 2127. With a KCET rank of 2127, you have a good chance for core engineering branches in reputed government and private colleges (such as RVCE, BMSCE, MSRIT, UVCE etc.) in Karnataka. While CSE in top government colleges may be difficult, those in allied branches and in good private colleges are attainable. Participating actively in counseling and keeping backup options will maximize admission chances. As far as admission through JoSAA is concerned & if you prefer only NIT/IIIT/GFTI, please note that with 98.67 percentile (OBC-NCL), you can expect admission in ECE, Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil branches in top NITs. Admission to CSE in top NITs or IIITs is less likely but possible in newer or mid-tier institutes. Consider branch flexibility to maximize options. Have taking a drop as your last option (my suggestion). All the best for your admission and a bright future!
