BIT, being a government-aided autonomous college, has a longer legacy and strong academic reputation, whereas BMSIT is a newer private institute with modern infrastructure and good industry linkages. Placement averages are comparable, though BMSIT reports higher top packages. Recommendation: If your KCET rank is better than 38,000 and you prefer a private college with strong industry ties, BMSIT is a good choice. For ranks above 50,000 or if you value a government-aided institute with a legacy, BIT Mechanical is preferable.
