Ans: I passed out long back i.e. 1996. During that time there were no placement. Now lot of companies are coming to the college for recruitment. Culturally the college is as good as any other college in WB

Ans: With 80 percentile and around 3 lakh rank in JEE Mains (General category, UP state), the chances for CSE or ECE in government colleges through JOSAA are extremely low. Usually, CSE/ECE branches have very high cutoff ranks (generally within top 50,000 or better).

However, your son may explore:

Other engineering branches in some NITs or IIITs with lower cutoffs.

State-level private or government engineering colleges via state counseling.

Private universities offering CSE/ECE with manageable fees.

My daughter has scored 93 percentile in JEE Main 2025 in GEN-EWS category and home state is Maharashtra. What colleges can she expect to be allotted in JOSAA rounds?

Ans: NIT Raipur, NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Jamshedpur — for branches like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.

IIIT Hyderabad & IIITDM Jabalpur are usually tougher for CS but other branches possible.

NIT Uttarakhand, NIT Agartala, NIT Silchar — good chances for ECE, EEE, Mechanical, Civil.

GFTIs like PEC Chandigarh, BIT Mesra, IIITDM Kancheepuram — can be options for ECE, CSE, or related branches.
