Dr Dipankar Dutta is an associate professor in the computer science and engineering department at the University Institute of Technology, the University of Burdwan, West Bengal.
He has 27 years of experience and his interests include AI, data science, machine learning, pattern recognition, deep learning and evolutionary computation.
Aside from his responsibilities at the college, he also delivers lectures and conducts webinars.
Dr Dipankar has published 25 papers in international journals, written book chapters, attended conferences, served as a board observer for WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) exams and as a counsellor for engineering college admissions in West Bengal. He helps students choose the right college and stream for undergraduate, masters and PhD programmes.

Hi, My MHT-CET score is 83 percentile. I am getting Ramdeobaba college of engineering ECE, Thakur college of engineering Electronics and computer science (ECS) and also ENTC in thakur and cse in Priyadarshini college of engineering and cse in GH Raisoni Nagpur and cse in Pr pote and ram meghe in Amravati. What should I prefer??

Ans: You should prefer stream. According to me CSE is the best from the job perspective

Please guide me in choosing between the following options (1) ECE in VIT Vellore in category 4 (already booked a seat) (2) ETC in Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (3) CSE or ECE in MIT-WPU Pune (4) Electronics in Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (5) ETC in MIT Academy of Engineering, Pune (6) CSE in KJ Somaiya Institute of Technology, Vidyavihar in Mumbai. I am only looking for CSE or circuital branches like Electronics, ETC, ECE, etc. My percentile in MHTCET is 92 so please suggest if you have any better options for me.

Ans: CSE at Somaiya or MIT WPU are good options.

my son got 2528 ST category rank whether he will get seat in IISER

Ans: With an ST category rank of 2528 in the IISER Aptitude Test, your son is unfortunately not eligible for admission to any of the IISERs, as the closing ranks for the ST category in recent years have consistently been much lower—typically between 54 and 475 across all IISER campuses, including Pune, Berhampur, Tirupati, Mohali, Bhopal, and Kolkata. Even at the most accessible IISERs, such as Berhampur and Tirupati, the ST closing ranks have not exceeded 475 in the latest rounds, and cutoffs are expected to remain in this range for 2025 due to increased competition and limited seats. The recommendation is to consider other science institutes or state-level options, as admission to IISER with a 2528 ST category rank is not possible. Please help I got rank 14500 at srmjeee phase 2 I am getting Mechatronics ,Nanotechnology ,Ece in srm main campus I want cse but i don't think will will get it in main campus I don't have any idea about the other campuses please guide me
