my kcet rank is 1220 general merit. which branch can I get in rvce under Supernumerical quota. can opt for cse, is, aiml or ec. pls guide

is there any likilyhood of getting any of the aforementioned branches if I wait till third round as I have heard that the closing rank for ece was 1800 last year . pls advice sir

Ans: With a KCET general merit rank of 1,220, getting Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Information Science (IS), Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML), or Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) at RVCE under the Supernumerary quota is highly unlikely, even if you wait until the third round. The 2024 closing ranks for these branches under the General Merit (GM) category were CSE: 419, IS: 657, AIML: 771, and ECE: 746, and for 2025, the expected cutoffs remain well below 1,000–1,100 for these high-demand specializations. While ECE sometimes extends to 1,800 in rare years, the trend for the last three years has been consistently below 800, and the Supernumerary quota does not significantly alter these cutoffs for open merit candidates. The closing ranks for these branches rarely fluctuate enough in later rounds to reach your rank, especially with increasing competition and preference for tech branches.
