Hii sir. My brother has given jee this year and he got 36955 rank in jee mains and 21586 rank in jee advance,(Obc rank in jee mains -9865 and jee advanced obc rank - 5688 )which college and branch he should choose in josaa counselling choice filling?

Ans: Sahil, With a JEE Main rank of 36,955 and JEE Advanced rank of 21,586, securing core branches in mid-tier NITs (e.g., NIT Durgapur ECE cutoff ~11,300–17,200 via JEE Main) or lower-tier IITs (e.g., IIT Bhilai Metallurgy cutoff ~21,000–25,000 via JEE Advanced) is feasible. Prioritize ECE/Mechanical at NITs like Jalandhar, Silchar, or Patna (2024 cutoffs: ~28,000–40,000) for better placement prospects (70–90% placements in tech roles). In IITs, consider Metallurgical, Civil, or Textile Engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Mandi, or IIT Goa (2024 cutoffs: ~18,000–25,000), which offer institutional prestige but require upskilling for software roles. For tech-focused pathways, opt for IIITs like Jabalpur/Una (CSE/IT cutoffs ~35,000–50,000) via JEE Main. Balance choices with higher NIT branches (e.g., Production, Chemical) and lower IIT core branches, ensuring a mix of college reputation and branch relevance. Confirm cutoffs during JoSAA counselling rounds for optimal seat allocation. All the BEST for your Brother's Admission & a Prosperous Future!
