Can I get any iiser with 2543 my ews rank

Ans: Swati, With an EWS rank of 2,543 in IAT 2025, your chances of securing admission to any IISER are extremely low. Recent and official round-wise closing ranks for the EWS category at all IISER campuses—including newer ones like Berhampur and Tirupati—have consistently closed below 650, with the highest EWS closing ranks in 2024 being 642 (Tirupati) and 629 (Berhampur). The expected EWS cutoff marks for 2025 are 100–120, and candidates above 1,500 EWS rank have not received offers in any of the last three years. The total number of seats is limited and competition has increased, with most seats filled well before your rank range. Even in extended and spot rounds, EWS closing ranks have not exceeded 700 at any campus, and seat availability is further restricted by reservation policies and high demand. recommendation: IISER admission is not feasible at your current EWS rank; focus on alternative science institutes, state universities, or private colleges to continue your academic journey without delay. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Sir, my son is getting Mechanical and aerospace engineering in PEC, IT in UIET Chandigarh and CSE in CCET Chandigarh. Please suggest which would be the better option. He has Chandigarh state quota ( General Category)
Ans: Punjab Engineering College (Deemed-to-be University), Chandigarh offers a four-year B.Tech in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering on its verdant 120-acre campus, featuring advanced workshops, aerodynamics and solid-mechanics labs, and a 1:8 faculty-student ratio of predominantly PhD holders. Placement rates for Mechanical Engineering have been 74%, 76% and 47% over the last three years, while Aerospace hovered around 47%, 50% and 42%. University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh provides a four-year B.E. in Information Technology with CBCS-based curriculum, specialized IT labs and NAAC A+ accreditation, recording placement rates of 80%, 78.4% and 66.3%. Chandigarh College of Engineering & Technology, Sector 26, Chandigarh offers a four-year B.E. in Computer Science & Engineering with NBA accreditation, modern computing facilities and strong industry ties, achieving CSE placement rates of 78.9%, 69% and 62% over recent years.

Recommendation: Prioritize UIET Chandigarh IT for its consistently strong placement momentum, robust infrastructure and state-quota advantage, followed by CCET Chandigarh CSE for its accredited curriculum and urban campus, and consider PEC Chandigarh Mechanical/Aerospace as a specialized core-engineering backup with solid research orientation.
