Should I Pursue MBBS at 23? A BSc Graduate's Dilemma
Ans: ELIGIBILITY RELATED TO AGE:
Eligibility for appearing in NEET (UG), as per related Regulations of NMC
and DCI are as follows:-
5.1.1. He/she has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will
complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her
admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course.
Accordingly, the lower age limit shall be as under:
For Candidates of General (UR)/General-EWS born on or
before
31.12.2008
For Candidates of SC/ST/OBCNCL/
PwBD/PwD Category
5.1.2. Upper age limit: As per Letter No. U-11022/2/2022-UGMEB,
dated 09 March 2022 received from National Medical
Commission (NMC), Under Graduate Medical Education Board
(UGMEB) regarding the upper age limit, there is no upper age
limit.

ELIGIBILITY RELATED TO COURSE:
CODE: 06
B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University provided that
he/she has passed the B.Sc. Examination with not less than
two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany,
Zoology)/Biotechnology and further that he/ she has passed
the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry,
Biology, and English.

KINDLY NOTE: Based on the facts and guidelines surrounding NEET, I would like to offer the following comments.
There is no need to worry about the age limit because the NTA is not concerned about your upper age limit. However, your educational qualifications must match the requirements. You fall under the Code 6 category.

If you have completed your undergraduate degree in Science (which you didn’t mention, but I’m predicting), consider whether stating your BSc is worthwhile. Ultimately, your eligibility depends on matching your Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) qualifications. If your HSC does not align with the requirements, you will not be eligible to appear for NEET. If you are eligible based on your HSC, then focus on your HSC score rather than Code 6.

Wishing you the best of luck!

12th Pass & Confused About B.Pharma? Get Real Advice & Reviews!
Ans: Hi Ishika,

The path you choose can vary from individual to individual, and I’m not sure where you’re from, so I can’t provide specific guidance on that.

When selecting a college, it’s important to choose one that has proper infrastructure and experienced faculty. They should conduct practical sessions during the designated lab hours. This is a fundamental aspect of your education. After completing your degree, you will need to pursue a postgraduate program (PG).

If you’re not interested in pursuing a PG, you might consider a career in marketing. Entry-level packages typically start from 4 to 8 LPA. After a few years, you could pursue an MBA through part-time, distance education, or an online course. This combination of Pharmacy and Management is particularly beneficial for those interested in a marketing career.

Within a maximum of 10 years, you could reach a frontline position.

Being female, this option may be particularly advantageous for you.

If you have any further questions or need additional information, feel free to ask.

Can you give a perfect step after 12th to purse b pharmacy iam belongs from middle class family so I can't pursue mba or m Pharma so only iam doing of b pharmacy so is it been good option for me Because I have interest in medical side field but many people said it doesn't have any scope so iam now curious about it iam living in thane but b pharmacy iam thinking to doing from konkan region i know its not good but at that region i have home so I don't need to stay in hostel side so i have decided and that college name is Govindrao Nikam College of pharmacy many say it is waste of many totally by doing this course i don't know what is right and wrong plz would you guard me neatly
Ans: Hi Ishika,

Since you are from the Konkan area (which includes Mumbai), there are many excellent pharmacy institutions available. Don't worry too much about the financial aspect at this stage. Nowadays, numerous agencies, such as Tata, Reliance, and Infosys, are offering scholarships to students. Most of these agencies provide around 1 lakh for eligible students. I won't comment on the college you mentioned.

In Maharashtra, there are many government institutions, as well as a few deemed universities. To pursue a B.Pharm, you will need to take a common admission test called MHT-CET. It's essential to prepare for and appear in this exam to secure admission, and during counseling, you will get a better idea of your options.

I recommend visiting the websites of potential colleges to check their faculty qualifications and infrastructure details. Look for faculty members who have completed their postgraduate degrees in their respective departments and have at least five years of teaching experience. While a good institute can boost your prospects, it’s important for students to have the willingness to learn and improve their skills. Although many industries may recruit from well-known institutions, students must be prepared to perform well in interviews.

Since you have decided to pursue a B.Pharm, here are some steps to follow:

1. Aim for a good percentage of marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Biology in your +2 exams.
2. Prepare for and take the MH-CET.
3. Choose the best college based on your research.
4. Strive for high marks throughout your B.Pharm program (aim for 90% or more to qualify for scholarships).
5. Look for opportunities in multinational companies (MNCs) and consider a career in marketing.
6. After 3-4 years, pursue an MBA.
7. Try to join a product department or a frontline position.

Best of luck with your studies and future plans!

32-Year-Old NEET Aspirant: What Score Do I Need for IISc Bangalore Admission?
Ans: IISc is a premier institute. When planning to join a prestigious institution, it's important not to focus solely on the eligibility criteria. Generally, the minimum eligibility for admission varies between 50-60%. This means that if you have at least 60% marks in the required subjects, you still may not guarantee admission, as many aspirants intend to pursue their studies at the same institute. Consequently, competition can be intense, and some applicants might not secure a place.

Please note that the admission selection process typically involves an entrance exam conducted either by the institute itself or by a testing agency. According to your query, the basic eligibility to pursue an undergraduate program at IISc is 60%, and candidates are also required to appear for the entrance exam.

For your reference, I have extracted this information from the IISc website. If you need any further details, kindly feel free to POOCHO. LIFE CHANGE KARO!

Eligibility criteria
Applicants must be Indian nationals, OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals to apply for IAT 2025.

The candidates must have passed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination with science stream from any board recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India. Foreign Nationals need to upload an equivalence certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities unless they have passed the Class XII or equivalent level examination from any board recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India. The equivalence certificate must be uploaded while submitting the IAT 2025 Application Form under "Please upload copy of document supporting your claim of Foreign National (You'll need to produce original when necessary)".

Candidates should have been born on or after October 01, 2000. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, i.e, these candidates should have been born on or after October 01, 1995. Note that, there is no restriction based on the completion year of Class XII.

Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD are required to score a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination. Candidates belonging to other categories are required to score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.

NOTE:
Candidates belonging to Kashmiri Pandit/Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) may apply for the IAT 2025 as Kashmiri Migrants subject to the fullfillment of other eligibility criteria. These candidates must upload a valid domicile certificate at the time of application under "Kashmiri Migrant Certificate".

Admission to IISERs
Admission to IISERs is exclusively through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT), which is a computer-based test scheduled on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at 9:00 AM, at various centres across the country.

Performance Criteria in Class XII (or equivalent examination)
Candidates whose Class XII (or equivalent) examination results have not yet been declared can apply for IAT 2025. However, their admission will be subject to fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria given above.
For candidates who have appeared in the Class XII (or equivalent) examination multiple times (for whatever reasons), the best of the performances in terms of aggregate in a given year will be considered.
If a board gives aggregate marks considering both Class XI and Class XII, then only Class XII (or equivalent) examination marks will be considered. If a board gives aggregate marks considering the results of all three years of a 3-year diploma or courses of equivalent duration, then only the marks scored in the final year will be considered. Similarly, the marks scored in the final two semesters will be considered for boards that follow a semester system.
If a board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade-sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the board specifying the equivalent marks and submit it before the deadline of the mark-sheet submission. In case the board does not provide such a certificate, the percentage marks will be assessed as follows:

percentage marks = (CGPA or CPI obtained × 100) / PS,
where PS is the maximum value of the point scale used by the respective board.
Reservation Policy
Reservation policies as mandated by the Govt. of India will apply
Scheduled Caste (SC) - 15% of seats
Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 7.5% of seats
Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) - 27% of seats
Persons with Disability (PwD) with at least 40% impairment - 5% of seats (horizontal, within the same category)
Kashmiri Migrants - 3 seats per IISER (supernumerary)
Economically Weaker Section (EWS) - up to 10% (as per Government of India rules)
Note that the EWS/OBC-NCL certificate should be issued on or after April 01, 2025
