Hello Sir, I gave the NEET exam in 2024,25 and now I want to take a gap of 1 year and give the exam in 2027, is it possible?
Ans: Hi Vatsalya,
Thank you for reaching out to REDIFFGURUS.
I understand that you have some confusion regarding the NEET. To clarify, there is no notification stating that candidates have limited access to appear for the NEET. There is no upper limit on attempts. The key is to focus on your preparation. You have already taken the exam twice, and this will be your third attempt. With your previous experience, you should have a better understanding of your weaknesses and strengths, which will help you in your preparation.

Please don't waste any more time and start analyzing what the issues were in your past NEET attempts. Based on your findings, you can adjust your study plan accordingly.

Additionally, could you please share your marks from 10th and 12th grade (PCMB) as well as your NEET scores? Sharing these details will help me provide more tailored input regarding your situation.

For your convenience, I will share a brief overview of the NEET information:
Key New Rules and Changes for NEET 2026
Aadhaar-based eKYC: Mandatory for registration to verify identity, requiring exact matches in name, date of birth, and gender.
Live Photo Capture: Candidates must take a live photo via webcam/smartphone during application rather than uploading a pre-saved image.
Exam Center Allocation: Candidates can no longer choose their city; centers will be automatically assigned by the NTA based on the Aadhaar card address.
Application Integrity: No correction window for photos, signatures, or biometric impressions. Discrepancies lead to automatic rejection.
Expanded Scope: NEET 2026 scores are mandatory for various allied and undergraduate healthcare programs beyond MBBS/BDS.
Core Eligibility and Exam Structure (Unchanged)
Age Limit: Minimum 17 years by Dec 31, 2026; NO UPPER AGE LIMIT.
Attempts: NO RESTRICTION on the NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS.
Qualification: Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, & Biology (PCB).

I completed my 12th State Board in 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Mathematics. I now want to apply for a college course that requires Biology, and the college has informed me that they accept NIOS qualifications but require all three subjects - Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, not just Biology alone. I have already applied for the NIOS On-Demand Biology exam scheduled in March 2026. I would like clarification on the following: 1. Should I write the Biology On-Demand exam in march and then later apply for Physics and Chemistry through NIOS On-Demand as well, or is it better to enroll for the NIOS Public Exam and write all five subjects (English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) together to obtain a single consolidated 12th passing certificate instead of separate marksheets? 2. If I take the Biology exam now and pass or fail, am I allowed to appear for the Biology exam again in the NIOS Public Exam session? Will they accept my admission for 12th public exam after taking biology on demand? 3. Since I have already completed my State Board 12th and passed all the subjects, am I eligible to apply for a full NIOS Public Exam with five subjects or can I only apply for on demand exam? Which option on demand or public exam is best to obtain a full 12th passing certificate from nios? I thought it is best to take the full public exam for 12th STD in NIOS instead of getting seperate marksheet for each subject so that I can get my college admission smoothly. Kindly guide me on which option is officially recommended for smooth college admission eligibility.
Ans: Hi,

Thank you for contacting Rediffguru.

I appreciate your thorough inquiry; it shows that you have a lot of questions. However, I need a bit more information to assist you better. Could you please specify which course you are interested in and which institution requires you to complete biology before joining? Once I have those details, I can suggest the best options for you.

Looking forward to your response!

My son is now doing internship in mbbs in india. As his father is in dubai he wants to continue his pg in medical in dubai.is any uk universities in uae to get indian recognition pg medical certificates and what is the procedure or exams he should follow?
Ans: Hi Lakshmi Madam,

I hope this message finds you well.

I would like to suggest that pursuing a postgraduate degree in medicine in Dubai may not be the best option. Compared to Dubai, India offers excellent facilities and a diverse patient population, providing a richer learning experience.

If pursuing medicine in Dubai is still being considered, here are some important details to keep in mind:

**Medical PG (Residency) in Dubai**
This is a competitive 4–5 year training program under the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) or Emirates Health Services (EHS), starting around October. To qualify, candidates must pass the Emirates Medical Residency Entrance Examination (EMREE), aiming for a score of at least 60%, with 80% or higher recommended. The program offers a paid salary.

**Key Aspects of Medical PG in Dubai:**

1. **Application Process:**
Applications open annually around January, with interviews (Multiple Mini Interviews - MMI) conducted in May. Candidates need to rank their preferred specialties, and a matching system similar to the US NBME is utilized.

2. **Entrance Exam (EMREE):**
The EMREE is the required entrance examination for the program.

3. **Eligibility:**
Applicants must hold an MBBS degree and provide evidence of completing a one-year internship.

4. **Documentation Required:**
Necessary documents include the Primary Source Verification (PSV) report, IELTS/TOEFL scores (if applicable), CV, and academic transcript.

5. **Competition:**
The competition is intense, with UAE nationals receiving priority in the selection process.

6. **Scope:**
A residency in Dubai is not recognized in India, although it can lead to further specialization or eligibility for Royal College exams.

7. **License Equivalency:**
All non-UAE qualifications must be attested by the UAE Embassy in the issuing country, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education in the UAE.

I advise you to carefully consider these factors. It may be more beneficial to complete the postgraduate degree in India instead.

Hallo sir, My daughter neet aspirant 2026 & it's her 1st drop. She is a pcb student with computer. I want a backup course like bioinformatics or biotechnology for her. Which course will be better & which university/ college should i choose for her ..please suggest. I don't have vast knowledge about this.
Ans: Hi Sir,
Is it a first drop or attempt? Kindly clarify.
Congrats that your daughter wanting to become a doctor. So her main goal is to succeed in the NEET exam. In this context she should divert by doing some useless course that to the course (bioinformatica) that you have mentioned can be pursued online. Secondly, biotech course can't be pursued online. To get a qualification, one has to attend the course regularly, then only they or anyone can acquire skills in the BT stream...Many universities/colleges are not well-equipped for BT. I think you might have noticed that our government is planning to spend lakhs of crores for BIOPHARMA.
So my suggestion is, let her prepare for the NEET exam without any hindrance. Also, she should not divert from other aspects.

Hello I am a 26 year old female I have scored 83 in 10th 77 in 12th and then during the same time I gave neet with boards so i couldnt score well at that point. I allways wanted to be a doctor and loved biology so that was the reason behind me taking science. Then I took bsc in microbiology never loved the subject....kinda only liked medical part of it and food microbiology a bit...scored 9.41 cgpa but things took a turn Post COVID my family shifted to a new place i was confused about what next since I didn't wanted to continue with micro...new city and all....family issues and stuff were there. I gave in 4 years to govt exam prep did few courses in digital marketing side by side and also some pg certificate courses to stay in touch with the field....just in case i decide to go for msc in food tech or pg diploma in data management or msc in clinical research. But I allways felt or had this regret of not getting into medical field and I feel like I belong there.....i want to heal and help people or animals (bams or vet was my choice if now mbbs ) So at this point would u suggest me to give neet a shot with 2 months left ? Or if not neet what would u suggest ? My parents are supportive but I have this age this in mind like will a guy marry a women who is like 28 or 29 and is in her 4th year of med school and would start earning by 30 or so....and then maybe at some point get into pg . And will I be questioned on my gap years when I would like apply at hospitals ? 3 years were because of bsc but rest were due to govt exam thing so.
Ans: Hi,
Thank you for your intriguing inquiry.
Your situation is similar to that of others who feel uncertain about their next steps.
It seems you have become confused about whether to continue in the field of education. That’s why, while preparing for government exams, you started pursuing digital marketing simultaneously. This may have hindered your ability to achieve your goals, and the course you completed might not have yielded the expected results.

Before pursuing any course, consider the following points:

1. Will the course provide valuable knowledge for your life and career?
2. Does the course align with your core subjects?

The answers to these questions are crucial:
- The course should offer practical skills, not just theoretical concepts.
- It should complement your core subjects to enhance your employability.
Be cautious of jobs that merely act as placeholders. Institutions often use impressive language to attract students, but it can be challenging to find suitable positions after completing these programs.

Regarding your inquiry about choosing between marriage and education, you do have options. You could take the NEET exam for MBBS. Is it feasible for you to attempt the upcoming exam? If so, consider preparing for a year to improve your chances. If you choose this route, you could complete your medical degree by 2031.

Alternatively, you might consider pursuing a BSc in Nursing, which aligns with your desire to heal and help others. This degree can be completed in three years, and there is a high demand for nurses, meaning job opportunities will be available soon after graduation. By 2029, you could finish the course, and if you wish, you can pursue a postgraduate degree afterward or start working in a hospital with your undergraduate qualification.

However, if you prefer medicine, you'll need to pursue a postgraduate qualification to advance your career. Since you've felt a bit lost, consider exploring other courses like Nursing, Naturopathy, or Ayurvedic studies.

If you are interested in fields related to medicine or health, an academic gap will not raise questions. The trend has shifted in recent years; many students aiming for medicine or technology at national institutions often take a year or two off to prepare for competitive exams. This should not pose a problem for you in the near future either.

So accordingly.
Best Wishes.

Hello, I have completed my MBBS from Georgia. I do not have a Georgia medical license, but I have passed the FMGE exam and I hold an Indian medical license. I want to pursue PG/Residency (Facharztausbildung) in Germany. Kindly confirm: 1. Is FMGE mandatory for Germany, or can I apply directly for PG/residency there? 2. Has there been any new rule in Germany that requires a doctor to have a license from the same country where MBBS was completed? Please let me know if, with my profile (Georgia MBBS + FMGE passed + Indian license, without Georgia license), I am eligible to apply for PG/residency in Germany under current rules. Thank you.
Ans: Hi Sahil,

Wishing you a very Happy New Year!

Unfortunately, you cannot obtain a medical license from Georgia. Even though you completed your medical degree there, you didn't meet the necessary requirements specific to Georgia. Similarly, to practice in India, graduates who completed their courses outside India must also meet specific criteria. This is quite common in many countries.

To obtain your license, candidates are required to take and pass an eligibility exam. That’s why you took the FMGE in India.

Regarding Germany
To study PG Medicine in Germany after your MBBS from Georgia as an Indian, you must get your foreign qualification recognized by a German State Medical Council, learn German to C1 level, pass the FSP (Fachsprachprüfung), and then undergo the Approbation (licensing) process, often via an observership/prep program, to get your license and apply for specialist training (Facharzt) in German hospitals. Your Indian license isn't directly applicable, so you must follow Germany's pathway to become a licensed doctor there.
Here's a step-by-step guide:
1. Document Assessment & Deficiency Letter:
Apply to a German State Medical Council (e.g., in Bavaria, Berlin) to assess your Georgian MBBS degree. They'll compare it to German standards and issue a "Deficiency Letter" (Defizitbescheid) listing missing subjects/hours.

2. German Language Proficiency:
Learn German to a B2 level for initial entry and C1 level (TELC C1 Medizin) for full licensing and specialist training.
FSP (Fachsprachprüfung - Medical Language Exam):
Pass this specialized medical German exam (often after B2/C1) to prove your clinical communication skills.

3.Preparatory Program/Approbation Process:
Enroll in a preparatory course (often 6-12 months) in Germany.
This helps you:
Attend an Observership (Hospitation) in a German hospital (1-6 months) to get practical experience and a confirmation letter.
Prepare for the Knowledge Exam (Kenntnisprüfung) if needed, to cover any subject deficiencies from your degree.
4. Obtain Provisional License (Berufserlaubnis):
After passing FSP and potentially the Knowledge Exam, you get a temporary license to work under supervision.
5. Apply for Specialist Training (Facharzt):
With your license, you apply for Junior Physician (Assistenzarzt) positions in your desired specialty at German hospitals, a 4-6 year process.

Key Points for Indian Candidates with Georgian MBBS:
No Indian License Needed: You don't need your Indian license to start; you need German licensure.
Georgian Degree Recognition: The process is rigorous; ensure your university and degree meet German standards.
Language is Key: German fluency (C1) is non-negotiable for success.

It is a lengthy process. Why don't you pursue the same in India?

BEST WISHES.

Why do you use ChatGPT to answer all questions? How does it help people
Ans: Hi,
I have never used ChatGPT to answer questions. I think you may have misunderstood my previous response. You might feel that my answers are well-narrated and that they go beyond simple one-word or one-sentence replies. However, I often take a day or two to respond because I believe suggestions should hold value, and the readers need to trust the counselor. That's why my answers may resemble those generated by ChatGPT, but they are entirely my own.

As a professor, I've encountered many real-life examples that inform my answers. I have held various positions within my institution, overseeing everything from admissions to appointments (entry to the college to exit). I have been a member of numerous committees, including those focused on admissions, discipline, purchasing, library committee, anti-ragging initiatives, NSS coordinator, and specifically the Placement Cell from 1996 to 2025.

I played a key role in obtaining ISO certifications for Quality Management Systems, energy, and the environment at my institute. Long before ChatGPT existed, I adopted several teaching methodologies to enhance my students' learning experiences.

If you have a science background, I would like to pose a question that you likely won't find an answer to on ChatGPT. Six months ago, I asked a similar question to a person in the medical field, and he still hasn't provided an answer.

As you know, Rediff does not charge for getting queries answered, and they do not pay the counselors. It is entirely free for users. This arrangement benefits Rediff's readers significantly. Based on merit and the agreement between Rediff and its counselors (with no counseling charges), the counselors provide their answers.

I've planned to start a YouTube channel for science with simple explanations. The channel name is @LABSEARI??????. Possible to check it out for your benefit.

We have an issue with my son's Date of birth record. His actual DOB is 14 nov 2001 from City A and certificate issued by the City A Municipality. In the year 2003 his child passport with 5yrs validity was issued with the same DOB. Passport was never been used. However while his admission in school, as we misplaced his DOB certificate and I was staying away, his uncle managed to get issued another DOB Certificate from City B Municipality with 1 yr increase in DOB, i.e. 14 nov 2002. Thereafter all his cerificates ( Xth from ICSE board in 2017, Aadhar, PAN) were issued with the changed DOB ( 2002). Since then we had forgotten about his Passport with a mismatch DOB, which was not renewed either, after expiry. Now ehen we thought about sending him abroad for his higher studies and applied for fresh passport, the passport authority asvised for renewal of paasport. And when we went for renewal along with seeking correction of his DOB and birth city, as all his other certificates are on the revised DOB, the passport office traced his earlier submitted copy of DOB. When we sought to rectify his DOB of Xth, the school Authority told us that the same cannot be changed after 2 yrs window from the date of issue. Now we accept that mistake has been done due to our careless ness. Kindly suggest us course of rectification, so that my son donot face with his DOB for his future. We are badly in need for help as has been running from pillar to post for possible remedy.

I wanted to study science (cbse) ,but due to some reasons I took commerce which was state board. I thaught that I can adjust this (as I am doing CA ) but I realised that I don't find commerce interesting and also the state board pattern as I passed 10th in cbse board. So the 11th std didn't went right for me ,my lack of interest in studies was the major reason,i was not able to adjust myself, then I got to know about nios in May this year, which offers cbse curriculum. I really felt happy because there was a chance for me to learn science, which I was interested in.So this is the main reason and currently I am studying for my 12th hsc commerce board exams. So can I get science (12th ) through nios.(67.8 10th percentage)
Ans: Hi,
Wish you a very Happy New Year.
If you are interested in pursuing your 12th grade with science subjects through NIOS, you can certainly do that. However, it's important to consider your goals for the near future. Interest can be quite different from reality. If you are genuinely passionate about science, your performance in the 10th grade should reflect that; based on your marks, it seems you may not have been as engaged.

Don’t waste your time. As you mentioned, you can opt for a career in Chartered Accountancy (CA). It is a very good course that requires a lot of interpretation and analytical skills to assess the accounts submitted by clients. So, I encourage you to proceed with your decision and prepare accordingly.

My daughter-in-law had completed her MD(Respiratory Medicine) course successfully from a Gov. Medcal College( selected through al India NEET PG ranking),in November 2025 from Dr. MGR medical University, Tamilnadu. There is a bond period of 2 years attached to the course. She is undergoing the course, taking leave from Kerala Health services ( since she had been appointed as Asst. Surgeon, on the basis of her MBBS degree). Can she complete her Senior Residency by joining her duty at Kerala State ? It is said that the bond is not insisted in certain years due to no vaccancy in Tamilnafu Govt. Health services is it true ? By filing a petition in court to permit to join kerla govt. health services , can i get a favorable order(is there any such order already issued from court?)
Ans: Dear Sir,
Without reviewing the document, I cannot provide a generalized statement. However, my concern is that this issue was known prior to joining the course and accepting the bond. Refusing the terms or requesting a transfer to another state is not appropriate. As educated individuals, we should strive to set a positive example for others.

According to the norms, once a candidate accepts the bond agreement, they are obligated to fulfill the terms with the sponsoring institution.

Additionally, the Kerala government is aware that the candidate must enter into a bond agreement, so there is no need to worry about the Senior Residency in Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, this is a nationwide centralized process, and I believe she must follow the bond agreement accordingly.

It may be possible to complete this obligation in their home state of Kerala or in another state like Tamil Nadu, provided that the respective government or institution accepts the transfer of the bond service.

Is it worthwhile being an mbbs only doctor in India or is pg necessary as somebody who cannot toil 24-36 hours (as is the case with hospital duties) and is not well adequate for working under somebody and then do you still have to study after mbbs to level up or will you be contented with just mbbs. Pls don't answer objectively i really need to see the real picture
Ans: Hi Dr.
Recently, I've seen many different comments on social media suggesting that finding a job after completing an MBBS is very difficult, with some graduates even working as delivery boys.

I believe MBBS is one of the few courses that allows for immediate entrepreneurship after graduation, while other fields often require additional support to start a business. Many medical shop owners are willing to provide a small space for consultations, which is not typically an option for graduates in other disciplines.

If you are financially constrained, it may be wise to stop after completing your MBBS degree for the time being. However, pursuing a postgraduate degree (PG) significantly increases your opportunities, including potential roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Without a PG, your options may be limited. It's akin to the difference between a normal grocery store and a supermarket: completing a PG can lead to positions in corporate medical hospitals.

Initially, you might consider working at a smaller practice or in the government sector before pursuing higher education. While having an MBBS degree allows you to offer consultations, having a PG provides you with more credibility and knowledge. Understand your strengths and weaknesses, and don’t worry about others—proceed based on your own abilities and circumstances.
