My daughter got Btech CSE from UPES , is it worth? She also got Btech (Hons) computer Eng and data Eng from LPU. How both the universities in terms future prospects and placement. She got through symbiosis nagpur and Hyderabad Btech CSE also. Pls advise which one to opt?
Ans: 1. UPES (Dehradun) – BTech CSE
UPES is known for its niche and industry-oriented programs. It has a decent reputation for CSE, especially if your daughter is open to specializations like cybersecurity, cloud computing, etc. Placements have improved in the past few years, but it’s still not at the level of top-tier colleges. Companies do visit, but the very high packages are usually for a small percentage of students.
2. LPU – BTech (Hons) Computer & Data Engineering
LPU is very large in terms of student body and infrastructure. They do push placements and claim high numbers, but again, top packages are limited and competitive. The curriculum is broad, and the Hons with Data Engineering is a useful option if she is interested in data science or analytics. But again, coding and data handling will be important here.
3. Symbiosis Nagpur or Hyderabad – BTech CSE
Symbiosis is very well-known for its law and management programs. Their engineering schools are newer and still growing. Placement-wise, they are behind UPES and LPU for now, especially in tech. The exposure and peer group might be good, but placement networks are still developing.
• If she wants more structured placement support and industry tie-ups, UPES is a slightly better choice than the others at the moment.
• If she’s confident, self-driven, and okay with a big campus environment, LPU with Data Eng could be good, especially if she wants to lean into data science in future.

Hi sir My daughter is doing fourth sem btech in biotechnology and biochemical engg from a govt college in Trivandrum. She plans for masters abroad mostly US. can u please guide on how to go about it.
Ans: Hi, it’s great that your daughter is planning ahead. Since she’s in 4th semester now and wants to do her Master’s abroad, especially in the US, here’s a simple step-by-step guide:

1. Focus on Academics
Keep her CGPA as strong as possible—above 8.0 ideally. US universities value consistent academic performance.
2. Start Building Profile
• Internships: Try to get internships in biotech or related fields, even if they’re small.
• Projects/Research: Encourage her to work on mini-projects or assist professors in research.
• Online Courses: She can take 1-2 certification courses (Coursera, edX) in relevant areas like bioinformatics, genetics, or data analysis.
3. Prepare for Exams
• GRE: Start preparing by 5th semester if required by target universities (some have waived it, but it’s still accepted by many).
• TOEFL or IELTS: Needed to prove English proficiency. She can prepare after GRE.
4. Shortlist Universities
By 6th or 7th semester, shortlist about 8–10 universities based on her interest, budget, and profile. A mix of ambitious, moderate, and safe options.
5. Application Process (During final year)
• Write strong SOP (Statement of Purpose)
• Get LORs (Letters of Recommendation) from professors/internship guides
• Prepare resume with academic and co-curricular highlights
• Apply around Oct–Dec of final year (deadlines vary, so check early)
6. Scholarships
Most MS programs offer partial funding or research assistantships. Having good academic and research background helps.
7. Visa Process
Once she gets admission, start preparing for visa interviews and financial documents.
Let her start slow and steady now. No need to rush, but the earlier she plans, the smoother it will be.

Good morning sir. I have got 15k Rank in COMEDK and by checking last year cut offs , I have chances of getting Chemical Engineering in RVCE,MSRIT and BMSCE. I have also locked seat in Electrical and Computer Engineering in Shiv Nadar University , Noida. I have not much interest in engineering so I am open to study both the branches but I just want to know which college will suit best. If I talk about my future plans , I want to either go to government jobs , defence or pursue MBA. Which college should I go for ?
Ans: Since you’re not too focused on a specific engineering branch and are looking at long-term goals like government jobs, defence, or an MBA, the college environment, exposure, and reputation matter more than the branch.
Here’s a simple comparison:
• RVCE, MSRIT, and BMSCE are top, well-established colleges in Bangalore with strong alumni networks, placement records, and brand value. Even if you take Chemical Engineering, you’ll get good peer group, campus life, and support for competitive exams or MBA prep. These colleges are also known to have many students preparing for CAT, UPSC, and defence exams, so you'll find the right atmosphere.
• Shiv Nadar University is modern, has good infrastructure and is growing fast, but still building its name. It's great for research and has a more liberal, flexible curriculum. However, it's not yet as well-recognized in terms of legacy and competitive exam environment.
If you're clear that you want a strong college name and environment to prepare for MBA, UPSC, or defence, then RVCE or BMSCE would be better. Don’t worry too much about Chemical Engineering as the branch—you can always shift focus later.

Sir, My daughter passed 12th BIPC with 98% and NEET Score 470 under general category in Telangana. As we are not sure to get a chance in A category seat in govt mbbs colleges and my daughter is not willing to retake neet. Kindly advise what career to pursue for a best future. Can she take a gap year to pursue Mathematics for MPC or IISC. Please advise.
Ans: Congratulations to your daughter — scoring 98% in 12th and 470 in NEET is no small achievement. She has worked hard, and it clearly shows.
since her NEET score may not be enough for a government MBBS seat under general category, and she’s not willing to take another drop, it’s wise to explore other good options.
If she wants to completely shift to MPC stream and try for IISc or engineering, it's possible — but she must be very sure. Learning higher-level Maths after BIPC is not easy unless she’s truly interested and ready to put in a year of effort just for the change.
Also, IISc Bangalore is highly competitive — even students from MPC struggle to get in. So this option should be chosen only if she has a deep interest in math and science research.
Best Alternative Career Options After BIPC (Without Dropping Again):
1. BPharm / PharmD – Good scope in pharma companies, research, or higher studies abroad.
2. BSc (Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Genetics) – Leading to research, ICMR, CSIR, MSc, or jobs in labs/industries.
3. BSc Nursing – High demand in India and abroad. Solid career path with good job security.
4. Allied Health Sciences (Physiotherapy, Radiology, Optometry, etc.) – Excellent demand in hospitals and private sector.
5. BAMS / BHMS / BPT – Alternative medicine but well-established options.
6. BSc Food Technology / Nutrition / Agriculture – Also growing fields with research, government, and industry jobs.

Sir, My son has secured a seat in PES RR campus and Manipal (Udupi campus and Bangalore campus) for AY 2025. Branch in all locations is CSE. Kindly advise which one is better from the perspective of - academic clubs, placements and post-grad opportunities. Thanks
Ans: Congratulations to your son on getting admission to such good colleges.
Since the branch is CSE in all three, here’s a simple comparison based on what most parents and students look for:
PES University – RR Campus (Bangalore)
• Placements: One of the best in Bangalore. Strong industry connections. Top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Infosys do visit.
• Academic Rigor: Quite structured and disciplined. Good faculty and regular exams.
• Clubs & Exposure: Has some good tech clubs and coding events, though overall student life is more academic-focused.
• Post-Grad Prospects: Good alumni network, many students go abroad or into top MNCs.
Manipal Institute of Technology – Udupi Campus
• Placements: Very decent, especially for CSE. Average packages slightly lower than PES, but big companies do come.
• Clubs & Campus Life: Very vibrant. Excellent tech, innovation, and cultural clubs. Great all-round student life.
• Academics: Flexible curriculum, choice-based credit system.
• Post-Grad Prospects: Strong reputation globally. Good number of students go abroad for MS.
Manipal – Bangalore Campus (MITB)
• Still relatively new, so placements and campus infrastructure are still developing.
• Might not have the same exposure or club culture yet as the Udupi campus.
• But it’s in Bangalore — so internships and tech exposure can be better if the student is proactive.

Sir, I have done my CSE AIML 1st and 2nd semesters in Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat. But due to my health issues and other personal issues I want to join some other universities in banglore, near my home itself from 2nd year , and I have visited few colleges such as Reva university and Ramaiah university regarding change of college they accepted, but the fee structure is too high, can you please help me by letting me know which other universities I can opt for, thank you.
Ans: I understand your situation — your health and personal comfort are very important, and it’s good that you’re looking for colleges closer to home in Bangalore.
It’s also great that Reva University and Ramaiah University have accepted your transfer, but yes, the fees in private universities can sometimes be on the higher side. Since you’re looking for more affordable options, here are a few suggestions you can explore:
1. Government or Government-Aided Colleges (VTU-affiliated)
These usually have much lower fees compared to private universities. Some colleges you can look at:
• BMS College of Engineering (autonomous, but more reasonable)
• Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology
• RV Institute of Technology & Management (not RVCE, this is the newer one)
• Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) – Fee is still lower than universities like Ramaiah.
• Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur – Slightly outside Bangalore but still a good option.
2. Colleges under VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University)
3. Check for Scholarships or Fee Concessions

Kindly suggest me between 1.Thapar ECE 2. symbiosis pune ECE 3. BV COE ECE 4. Amritapuri CS -Cyber Security 5.BIT PATNA ELECTRICAL 6.GSV Electrical rail. Urgent Please
Ans: 1. Thapar University – ECE
Good Choice.. Good reputation, especially in North India. Placements are strong, especially in ECE and CS-related roles. Companies also offer software jobs to ECE students. If budget is manageable, this is your best option.
2. Amrita (Amritapuri) – CS with Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity is a strong and growing field. Amrita has good discipline, decent placements, and value-based education. If your child is interested in tech/security, this is a great specialized field. Slightly below Thapar in reputation, but good if interest is in CS.
3. Symbiosis Pune – ECE
Decent private college, okay placements. Brand value is better in management, law, and media. For ECE, it’s okay but not at Thapar’s or Amrita’s level in terms of engineering placement.
4. BVCOE Pune – ECE
Reasonable option if staying in Maharashtra and budget is tight. However, brand and placement for core branches like ECE is average. CS is usually stronger.
5. BIT Patna – Electrical
Decent infrastructure, but location and placement may not be as strong unless aiming for PSU/government sector later. For private jobs, options will be more limited.
6. Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) – Electrical Railways
This is a niche government university focused on railway and transport sector. Good if you have clear interest in railways or government jobs. Otherwise, it may limit flexibility in other industries.
Suggested Order (based on overall value):
1. Thapar – ECE
2. Amrita (Amritapuri) – CS Cybersecurity
3. Symbiosis Pune – ECE
4. BVCOE – ECE
5. BIT Patna – Electrical
6. GSV – Electrical Railways (only if very specific interest in railways)

Sir This is an engineering related question. My son, per se , is unsure about his career path. However, he wants to do engineering because he likes maths and physics. He does not enjoy coding and is therefore unsure about what would be a good engineering field for himself. My question, is what are the options thay he should consider? . Also does elctronics and or yelecommunication foelds involve a lot of coding? Thank you
Ans: It’s very common for students to be unsure about their exact career path at this stage, where there are so many branches.
It’s a great starting point that your son enjoys maths and physics. That’s a strong foundation for most engineering fields. Now, since he doesn't enjoy coding, it’s wise to explore branches that are more hardware or core-concept oriented rather than software-heavy.
Here are a few good options he can consider:
1. Mechanical Engineering – This is a broad and core branch. It deals with machines, structures, materials, and design. It involves problem-solving, physics, and mathematics, with minimal coding. Great if he enjoys how things work physically.
2. Civil Engineering – Focuses on construction, infrastructure, and design of buildings, roads, bridges, etc. It’s more field- and design-oriented, and rarely involves coding.
3. Electrical Engineering – Involves circuits, power systems, and electronics. Some parts may involve programming (like embedded systems), but it’s not coding-heavy unless he specializes in automation or similar fields.
4. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering – This can involve a fair bit of coding depending on what he chooses later. For example, if he goes into embedded systems or signal processing, there will be programming. But if he sticks to core electronics, circuit design, or communication theory, it’s less so. That said, in today’s world, a little bit of coding is slowly becoming a part of most branches, but it’s not central in all of them.
5. Engineering Physics or Instrumentation – These are niche areas with strong focus on core physics and instrumentation, again with limited coding, depending on the specialization.
