My son is US citizen and he has passed 10 th this year. After 12 th I want to send him to US for further studies.will he be termed as international student or resident citizen.
Ans: Hello Peeyush,
First and foremost, thank you for getting in touch with us. I am glad to hear that your son has completed his 10th grade this year. As an answer to your query, I would like to tell you that since your son is a US citizen, he would be considered a resident citizen when applying for higher education in the US, even if he has been residing outside the country. As a US citizen, he would not be considered an international student for admissions purposes. Nevertheless, based on the specific educational institution and program he applies to, he may still be required to fulfill certain residency requirements. To understand any residency requirements or documentation needed for his application, I would recommend that your son gets in touch with the admissions office of the colleges or universities he's interested in.
