Hi komal ji, good morning
I'm Sandeep, post graduate. My age is 33. Recently I was diagonised with prediabetes. My fasting blood sugar is 160-170 and PPBS is 280. So please suggest me the right way to treat my health condition.
Thanks in advance.
Ans: A fasting blood sugar level of 160-170mg/dl and PPBS of 280mg/dl is indicative of Diabetes. You should consult your physician for appropriate medication. A diet rich in fiber, protein foods and low in simple carbs and fats are the dietary modifications required. Have foods like whole grains, vegetables, fruits, beans, nuts, etc. to offset blood sugar spikes and increase satiety value. Avoid sweets, pastries, cakes, chocolates, white bread, aerated water, fatty foods, etc. Small frequent meals will be beneficial in controlling blood sugar levels. Strengthening and aerobic exercises are necessary to lower body fat and increase lean mass.
