I am 65 years old. having diabetes for last 15 years. I tried Dr Dixit's diet 2 year's back & it helped. My HbA1C came down from 7.8 to 6.3. Weight came down to 67 kgs from 82 kgs. Overall fitness also increased. During Covid I could not follow that routine & diet. Now, HbA1C has gone up to 8 again.
What diet & exercises do you suggest
Ans: Diabetes management is crucial for maintaining good health. Blood sugar levels should be monitored and controlled by following a lifestyle intervention of more complex carbohydrates like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, etc., good protein sources like low fat dairy sources, pulses and legumes, and low fat in the diet. Foods to avoid include simple carbohydrates, which are processed, such as sugar, pasta, white bread, flour, and cookies, pastries, and namkeen. Ensure portion control and low glycemic foods in every meal. Adopt an exercise regimen which includes strengthening and aerobic exercises.
