Dear Dr. My father has been diagnosed with severally calcified all three arteries. He underwent PTCA (Angioplasty) post IVL (Lithropsy) in left descending artery. He is 84 and chronic diabetic .Is it necessary to perform the same procedure on other two arteries also? Or he will be comfortable with only one artery functional?
Ans: What does he want?
If he is not in a position to take a call, as a care giver you can take a decision considering the pros and cons. Considering his age, having undergone angioplasty, having chronic diabetes on one side, seeing how much will he be engaging into the world, you can decide. Totally an individual's call
