Sir , My Name is Ameet my Father survived from stroke & need to be operated for By Pass Surgery , he has been admitted at Hospital for last 15 days but his creatine level is above 1.5 to 2.4 he is diabetic, Doctor has advice us that carrying surgery with higher creatine level is of very high risk , they are telling us to not to operate & keep him on Medicines as benefit are more without carrying out the operation , can you suggest us what will be best opnion in your option ..
Ans: Hi, if surgery is absolutely necessary, then, irrespective of the creatinine value, we can go ahead with the surgery. Definitely there is a risk of worsening of creatinine in the post-op period. At times, temporary dialysis may also be required.
