My daughter is currently pursuing final year graduation degree in physhology. She is looking forward to go abroad (ony US) for her master's degree in psychology. Afterwards she is looking forward to study for p.syd course. ( doctor's in psychology).
Please advise on this matter.
Ans: Dear Swa...Your daughter’s plan to pursue a master’s degree in psychology in the US followed by a PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) program is a well approach, especially if she aims to build a career as a clinical psychologist or therapist. The US is highly regarded for its psychology programs, offering a blend of rigorous academic training and practical experience through internships and clinical placements. A master’s degree will provide her with a solid foundation and make her a competitive candidate for PsyD programs, which are practice-oriented and focus on preparing students for direct clinical work. It’s important to research accredited universities, understand the specific requirements for licensure in the US, and consider the financial aspects, including tuition, living expenses, and potential scholarships. With careful planning, this pathway can significantly enhance her career prospects and professional expertise in psychology.
