I am congenital kyphoscoliosis. Age 43. Until now, I had no trouble, but since last year, I am suffering from pain and stiffness in gluteal muscles. Dr says it is due to the incorrect posture caused by the deformity. He suggested some exercises and said it cannot be cured and the pain and stiffness can only be managed with exercise. Is there any cure for this in physiotherapy ? By the way, I am a college teacher.
Ans: Hello Prithvirajsingh,
Congenital kyphoscoliosis is a structutal deformity and hence can't be cured.
However physiotherapy and even therapeutic yoga can help to reduce the pain and also prevent the further worsening.
With ageing the problems tends to get worse hence I would say it is very important for you to take proper guidance and do a certain exercise schedule on a regular basis.
All the best!
